New sake from Kyoto, Jurakudai. The label is flashy. The aroma of rice is refreshing. The taste is, how should we say it, the middle mouthfeel?
Unlike the flashy label, the taste is very soft, not too sweet, not too dry. I wonder if it is what is called "Fushimi's women's sake. It is smooth and easy to drink, but I would prefer something with a little more character.
Rating: B-
As is typical of junmai sake, it has a beautiful flavor with no cloying taste at all.
As the name "Aki-agari" suggests, it has matured moderately.
I purchased this set with the front cover by mail order!
The rice is very firm! It has a sharp aftertaste!
It was strong and refreshing, perfect for a greasy snack!
The second cup, Jurakudai by Sasaki Shuzo.
It is a light but slightly fruity sake with a hint of sweetness.
It is a very Kyoto-like sake and I liked it too 👏👏👏.
Sake from Kuranosuke Sasaki's parents' house.
It was a gift.
It has a sweet and tasty flavor and is easy to drink.
I wonder if the alcohol taste is still there at the end.
I'll give it a few days to see if it changes.
There are many elegant and easy-to-drink sake in Kyoto, but it's hard to buy them in my hometown!
Waiting for gifts and souvenirs...
On the plane.
Aroma is quite clean, but strong body.
Fruity notes but alcohol and grain smells are stronger. Slightly fermented and complex. I would like to see a little more aroma or flavor.
On a trip to Kyoto. The mellow rice aroma reminds us that rice is the raw material of sake. If you have it with sashimi, you might think you are eating freshly cooked rice. No, it's not like that. But it is delicious.
- Aroma is unique, difficult to describe but gorgeous.
- You can feel the process of the lingering aroma turning into a grain of rice.
- The aroma is so distinctive that I want to find a word to describe it by relying on the impression I have of it.
- A sake that gives a gentle impression like freshly cooked delicious rice.
- It raises expectations that it will go well with side dishes that go well with rice.
When matched with vegetables, its characteristics stand out.
When combined with protein-based dishes, it seems to wrap you up.
