I went to a sake festival at a liquor store! They were offering free tastings, and after drinking a lot of brands of sake that I have never had before, I went to the next paid tasting. All of Ota Sake Brewery's free tastings were served heated, but in the paid tasting, we were able to compare heated and cold aged sake! The heated nigori sake was delicious, but the cold aged sake had a rounded acidity and was mellower and easier to drink than I had expected. I thought it would be more sharp and dry, but I was pleasantly surprised... I was drinking on a empty stomach, so I ate rice balls made of sake rice on the way. It was salted musubi, so I could enjoy the simple taste of the rice.

When I opened the bottle, I heard a small "pop" sound, but I couldn't feel any gaseous sensation. (When I drank it again later, there was a nice, sharp gassy feeling... It was easier to drink and tastier than I had imagined, so maybe my memory of that part of the bottle was slipping.) The aroma of sweet rice and refreshing acidity. The taste is light, and the sweetness and acidity are like a lactic acid beverage. Even though it is low-alcohol, you really don't feel the alcohol taste that much, so you can drink it with your 3 o'clock snack without feeling uncomfortable (is that too much?!). Since it is a doburoku, some people may be bothered by the undissolved rice on the palate when drinking it, but I think this is very good! I wish I had it in my fridge every day instead of Yak-Kut...

It's the time of year when it's hot, humid, and bug-infested despite the rain! So, I bought this summer's arrival because I was attracted by the label. The aroma is faintly citrusy. The aroma is faintly citrusy, with a hint of sweetness, followed immediately by a refreshing acidity. It spreads quickly and has a small aftertaste. When the discomfort level is high like this, you should just drink it in one gulp without thinking! I almost finished it, but then I stopped. As the temperature rose, the sweetness became mellower, but I think it would be better to drink it cold. I'll buy another bottle if it's still available.

I wanted something refreshing to drink as the temperature was getting warmer, so I bought it on the store's recommendation. It looks cool. The aroma is refreshing. Next in the Toyo Bijin drinking comparison was Omachi. Like the Yamadanishiki we just drank, it is elegant and well put together, but I could taste more sweetness and umami. Overall, it is very easy to drink and refreshing, but the Omachi has more volume at the beginning, so it is more satisfying and I prefer this one. If you want to drink it slowly, Yamada-Nishiki is more relaxing. If I were to compare the two, I would choose the Omachi because of its impact. Thank you very much for your help!

We compared the two wines with Toyo Bijin's Jyundo Isshu, which was selected by the store staff! We started with Yamadanishiki. The last one was also delicious! I used to drink only cel24, which is available in supermarkets, but this was my first time to try Kameizumi with a different yeast! It does not have the fruity, mellow aroma of cel24, but it has a soft rice aroma and mouthfeel. It has a clean, elegant sweetness with little aftertaste. I think I'll drink more of this one because I won't get tired of it.
