Last of the ANA Lounge sake. This is nihonshu; producer says good with eel & Yakitori, neither of which on offer here. Really in between the three sake’s available. 100% Miyagi rice.

At ANA Lounge in Haneda, before NH112 to the Windy City. Very fresh, with fruit like but not fruity flavors. Don’t often have Gifu brews and certainly not before 10 am, but this is nice.

On board NH112 en route to Chicago. The menu said, “The flavor is characterized by a subtle sweetness and refreshing acidity with soft, sweet notes of white peaches and ripe papayas.” Agree with the first part but didn’t get the fruits described in the second part. A decent drink but I think I’d stick with the Japanese version.

Usually don’t buy from Chiba but the packaging (& to be honest, the price) was good. Plus a Nama. From an internet search learn “Byakuya" is observed in the far north, & “just like the midnight sun, when there is no boundary between day and night and the sun never sets all night, the ingredients are kept partially secret”. So rice, yeast & polishing ratio not disclosed. Agree with the description that there is a nice balance of sweetness and acidity, even if at dinner & not at midnight.
