I agree. Had at room temperature. Dry is not the word.

After the IWC, returned to usual asking master to select. Choices mostly from Tohoku it seemed. This had a strong taste, too.

Tried because IWC Champion. Label says, “Brewed in the royal style.” Can see how it stood out in a tasting, a distinctive and flavorful brew.

When purchased was refrigerated and kept it so at home. Surprised to see the label said to serve warm. Tasty chilled in my view.

While still not an Autumn feeling, it has been a little cooler. But we remain in typhoon season! Even if Mother Nature not following the schedule, hiyaroshi always a pleasure to drink. This is a good one!

Understand that the Yagenbori group has a relationship with the Karhu family/estate. And that this would be offered on a first omakase. But still pretty good as a hiyaroshi.

Solid brew from a solid Kura in Hiroshima. Very dry especially compared to the prior Kyoto drink.

I think the second time I had this also now at obanzi in Kyoto. Staff said it was “kaori (flavorful). My partner thought on the sweet side. I enjoyed with our meal.
