Ikebukuro with friends on Wednesday. It was not an all-you-can-drink party. Sake was my friend's choice as we sunk into the sake swamp. It was my first Hakuba Nishiki. Nice choice. It tasted like it would be ranked high in the Nigorin picks. It was fresh, fruity, sweet and refreshing. The upper half of the label is European and the lower half is Japanese, which gives it a Showa-era feel.

Trophies from a trip to Hiroshima. Nama-zake, suitable temperature for refrigeration: 5°C ...... Sorry, I didn't realize I had stored it at the 8°C setting. Sorry! My personal impression is that it's hard to tell the difference between nama-zake and unfiltered sake, but this one was different. Home drinking. 100% Yamadanishiki produced in Shiga Prefecture The color is slightly whitish. The mouthfeel is clean and mild. The taste is sweet like green apple. The acidity is blended with sweet and sour. Is it sweet? Is it sweet? But then the sourness appears and has a big impact 🤩. The aftertaste has the umami of the rice, which is even more pronounced when combined with the acidity. I felt that the hint of aroma also penetrated through. This is a special Junmai Nama Genshu with a rice polishing ratio of 60%. First of all, the fruity ginjo aroma that is typical of freshly squeezed sake is a nice touch. The first impression you get when you drink it is a refreshing, fresh and gentle sweetness that only sake can provide. I've known the name for a while, but this is my first time drinking it. The rice is 100% Shukumei. It's fruity at first, but at the end, it hits you hard. It was easier to drink Gohyakumangoku, a special junmai, but I thought it had a common taste and passed it up. This one has more character. It is fruity and dry.

First Fushimi sake after debuting at Sake-no-wa! It's been a while since we went to Kyoto, so we decided to buy a bottle of Fushimi sake. The first time I took it out of the refrigerator, I had the impression that it was too alcoholic to be good for me😑. However, as the temperature gets closer to room temperature, the sweetness increases and it's nice 😳 It's mellow and easy to drink like Fushimi sake. It's delicious! This is a sake that should not be chilled, but lukewarm heating might be good too🤔. I'm so glad I bought it in the end ☺️.

A fellow triathlete was at Daimaru in Kyoto, A triathlete friend of mine was at Daimaru in Kyoto and bought it on the recommendation of the clerk. He asked me to come over to his house to drink it 🍾.
