The sake I chose when I returned home for Obon was Gold Junmai Daiginjo by Popular Sake Brewery. This sake brewery is very particular about the traditional method of making sake, and everything is made in wooden vats. It is a junmai daiginjo that is polished to 50%, so there is no cloying taste at all ✨It starts with an elegant sweetness and rice flavor, with the aroma of the wooden vat and a slight bitterness at the end. Delicious 😊.

A 1-goupe bottle that I had gotten at Yamada-san, a sake dealer in Ikebukuro Seibu. I check the small refrigerator near the cash register, which is mainly small bottles, every time I go there. It is Kamerei Mannen from Hiroshima🐢. The classical texture gives it a ginjo-shu feel.

A souvenir of Hiroshima from a friend. It seems to be read as "Maneki". I had an image that it made dry sake, but it was more modern and I drank it quickly. A restaurant near my office specializing in Yamagata ramen started serving cold ramen for lunch, so I went in. The soup and noodles were delicious, though a bit salty, but the coldness of the soup and noodles did not defeat the taste. The third picture is the counter of the restaurant. Shizuku-tori sake from my humble favorite, Ikumidoi-san. The aroma is gently fruity. It is berry-like with acidity. The mouthfeel is gentle, but the volume expands with both sweetness and dryness. It has a very beautiful structure with a disappearing aftertaste. A good sake for stand-alone drinking. I think it would also work well as a heated sake, perhaps because of the image of Ikumichii 👌.
