This is Kokugon, a souvenir from a trip to Aizu.
It is robust and full of flavor.
But it is very refreshing and highly satisfying.
It was a bottle.
It was delicious.
Good evening, Mr. NABE.
Thank you for your comment.
Aizu and Fukushima Prefecture have a lot of good sake.
There are many delicious sake in Aizu and Fukushima Prefecture.
cocken
Calm and mellow Classic
The label is a gourd and a boar's mouth. Maybe the vermilion color is because it's for hot sake.
It was founded in 1877 and named "Kokugen" after the many people who discussed the future of the country after the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate and the turn of the Meiji Era.
Purchased at Sota Watanabe Shoten in August.
This bottle was also served at an izakaya (Japanese-style bar) during a trip to Aizu, Fukushima City, and was very tasty.
Also, the unusual brand name "Kunigon" left an impression on me.
It has a dry taste with moderate umami and sweetness, accented by acidity.

It will work well with meals with relatively strong flavors.
Hi NABE!
Thank you for your comment!
I see you were born in Minamiaizu, Kokugon was a very good sake! If I have a chance to visit Fukushima, I would like to buy it again 🍶.
Thank you for your attention to the non-alcoholic side of things. ☺️ I have about 400 CDs, but they are all on the wall. Some of them I almost never listen to, so it's time to get rid of them (lol).
I have about 1,000 CDs, but I can't get rid of the ones I don't listen to.
My friends laugh at me saying that I'm the only one who buys CDs nowadays instead of distributing them. (wry smile).

Impression] Beautiful Yamahai Junmai sake.
The aroma is quite subdued and does not remind one of Yamahai at all when just poured, but as the temperature rises, the sense of Yamahai gradually emerges. It is a very beautiful sake.
It is not gorgeous, but its true value comes out when paired with dashi (soup stock) or umami (flavorful) dishes.
When heated, the acidity rounds out and the umami comes forward, making it even more delicious.

Kunigon GOLD Label" by Kunigon Shuzo of Aizu!
Normally, I would not have the courage to buy a four-pack of this level sake myself, but today I was able to find it at the annual "Fukushima Sake Festival at Shinbashi SL Plaza" and enjoyed it.
It was labeled "dry," and to be honest, it's a bit different from my taste,
But the moment I saw it, I didn't hesitate to offer my ticket to get it!
When I took a sip, the clarity was truly exceptional. The taste was so clear that even my dull tongue could clearly distinguish the difference.
At this festival, you can buy a 5-pack of tickets for 1,000 yen, and the gold label is for 3 tickets.
The plastic cup is only 45 ml even when full, but I was still obsessed with this flavor and couldn't help but have another cup.
Zero regrets, rather a great decision.
I hope to see this gold label again next year at the Fukushima Sake Festival.
It has a strong logo design and a strong flavor. I don't know how to describe it, but it's sweet, dark, spicy, and smells like grain.... I don't like it a bit.
