Drinking with my wife at Tsushima Tsuru at Metropolitan Morioka New Wing on our wedding anniversary last week (laughs). We continued with Kikunotsuka Junmai-shu (Junmai-shu is a junmai-shu made by Kikunotsuka). Kikunotsuka Yo is a summer sake in the same series. This one is a matured autumn-aged sake. It is sweet but refreshing. No sticky feeling at all. The mild taste goes well with Rishiri kelp and ebi majake. I have to get up early again tomorrow, so that's all for today. Good night. (-_-)zzz

Tenma Taishukai 2024 ④ The day before, I tasted Sakakamatsu from this brewery at a liquor store in Ikuno Ward. He asked me if I was going to the Tenma Sake Festival. Hakone Drink Comparison Set (2) On March 1, after a year-long event, I went on a trip to Hakone as a way of consolation! The local sake was served to compare with Japanese kaiseki. It was my first time to try Hakonezan! This is the spiciest sake in the group. It is a dry ginjo-shu as you might imagine, but it is moderately rich and very good as a mid-meal drink. Of course, it goes well with ingredients as they are, but it also goes well with dishes that have been added, such as those using dashi (Japanese soup stock)!

Souvenirs from Shinshin SY Among several souvenirs, I chose this one intuitively by looking at the label. He brought three four-packs of sake as a souvenir, which is a generous gesture for a business traveler who travels all over the country. I would never have been able to do such a thing with my own pocketbook. When I pour it into the cup, it is more yellow than I expected! Is this a matured type? The aroma is slightly fruity, but has a bitter, mature aroma. Kumamoto's local sake, Sanzanmura Slightly sweet ginjo aroma A light, sweet mouthfeel with a soft acidity. Like drinking fresh green apple juice I drank too much and my memory is fuzzy I'm not even sure of the notes I wrote at the time😅. Anyway, it's delicious! Sake brewed with sake rice grown by a pesticide-free method called "Koi Farming" in Sanzan Village! Using the carp farming method, carp are released into the rice paddies 🌾🌾 to get rid of pests. A few years ago, I drank Manbo from Kumamoto Kameman Shuzo, which was a sake made using the duck farming method🦆! There are many people in Kumamoto who practice natural farming methods 🫶.
