Purchased at the sake department of Ropia in Hirosaki. Surprisingly, there are no liquor stores or supermarkets around Hirosaki Station, which is a problem if you want to buy local sake as a souvenir. The aroma is wonderful. Kumamoto's local sake, Sanzanmura Slightly sweet ginjo aroma A light, sweet mouthfeel with a soft acidity. Like drinking fresh green apple juice I drank too much and my memory is fuzzy I'm not even sure of the notes I wrote at the time😅. Anyway, it's delicious! Sake brewed with sake rice grown by a pesticide-free method called "Koi Farming" in Sanzan Village! Using the carp farming method, carp are released into the rice paddies 🌾🌾 to get rid of pests. A few years ago, I drank Manbo from Kumamoto Kameman Shuzo, which was a sake made using the duck farming method🦆! There are many people in Kumamoto who practice natural farming methods 🫶.

This is my first New Year's Day back in my hometown Osaka. This year, my parents invited us to their department store Osechi. My sister and her husband brought me a bottle of Okutanba as a celebratory sake. You can feel the sweetness of the rice in the beginning, but it changes to a dry taste in the middle to the end. It is a perfect match for the richly flavored Osechi and fatty yellowtail sashimi. It is said that the sake degree is +5 (dry), but I feel that it is +2~3 (slightly dry?). I guess. Anyway, it was a delicious sake. Thanks to my sister and her husband!

The sake my sister and her husband served me at New Year's was so good that I decided to pick up another brand from the same brewery. Okutanba Junmai Ginjo. This is Yamana Shuzo's regular sake. Purchased at Vinos Yamazaki in Kyoto after buying Daina at a liquor store in Saiin After this, I went back to the liquor store on the 2nd floor of the Yaichi main building and to Takimoto - Isetan 😊. I really wanted the Vinos limited edition Isoboast, but the date was a year ago, so I avoided it💦. It's also February 24 😅.
