It has been 3-4 days since I opened the package, but I forgot to upload it ... . Is it because of the rice? Or is it the yeast? I don't know, but it doesn't feel like Niigata sake in a good way. It's too sweet.
It's been a while since I've updated this page, but this is also a long time since I last visited Machida Sake Brewery. I think I have had Yamadanishiki and Miyamanishiki before, but this is my first Gohyakumangoku. It's a nice one with a maximum of schwarziness.
Abeno Junmai Ginjo. I couldn't buy it at the sake festival, but when I exposed it to my friends at the cherry blossom viewing party, it disappeared at once. It's only once a year, so it's OK.
The spoils of my business trip to Saijo area. I wondered if the sake with gold leaf in it was some kind of myth. I thought it was a myth or something, but it does contain gold leaf petals. And I thought, "Is it a colorful frame? It's not too sweet or too spicy, it's a classical sake, but it has a taste of a different world from the modern ones we usually drink. I was impressed.
I bought it for the first time at a liquor store I went to, because they were selling it for the first time. Of course, it was my first time to try it, but I wondered if I had ever had sake from Nagasaki before. I remembered that Yokoyama is from Iki Island, and Hirado Island is from Hirado Island.
It is fragrant and a little spicy, but soon the taste of the umami comes to the fore. It is said that this sake is made with the image of the sea, and yes, it was exactly what I imagined.
It's not exactly the after-sake team, but the sake from Sado Island, Niigata, is perfect. It has a fruity aroma in the nose when you put it in your mouth. It is more modern than other Niigata sake. It is delicious.
After a light, refreshing mouthfeel, the acidity and pungency come in a burst. After that, the bitterness follows. It's interesting, but I've never had it before. It is a very dangerous sake (a compliment) because it is light and easy to drink.
In early March, I went to Saijo area for work, and there are many sake breweries around Saijo Station, so I bought this one at the nearest liquor store. Shinshu Kamerei is famous for Kamerei, but this is probably the original one. Oh, it's sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet. The path of Japanese sake is too deep.
It is slightly fruity and dry. As the label on the back says, it also has a mineral taste. Although it is recommended as a "medium sake" to be served with seafood, I thought it could also be served as a main sake by itself. I guess this is a difficult time for sake rice, as it was born in Ishikawa Prefecture, but I hope it will develop in the future.
Since last summer? It's the first time since last summer. Sweetness and sourness, especially sourness comes first. The freshness of the taste is spring-like, perhaps due to the season. Delicious!
The seventh and final sake of the Sake no Jin is Garakudai Zuika from Tenryohai Shuzo brewery on Sado Island, which has been the talk of the town for a while now. I took a sip and found it to be perfectly balanced. A little bit of tangy sweetness, followed by umami that spreads and disappears with a faint aftertaste. I felt that nothing was too much, and it had a sense of refinement. This will be a regular at next year's sake festival, though there are too many regulars (laugh).
We visited the Imadaiji Sake Brewery, which is located near Niigata Station. After the tour of the brewery, there was a gacha (a Japanese sake machine), and I couldn't help but try it. By the way, the man who was explaining the brewery tour, who seemed to be the toji (master brewer), was too funny. I recommend this place when you visit Niigata.
The sixth sake of the Sake-no-jin is Echino Yukitsubaki by Yukitsubaki Shuzo. After tasting it at the brewery, I decided to buy it immediately. It wasn't cheap (sweat), but I have to admit that it is still delicious, and the flavor spreads after the schwa. By the way, it seems that this brewery, Kamonishiki and F40's Masukagami are both breweries in Kamo city, and their atmosphere may be similar....
I visited the area around the brewery the other day, so I added some photos.
The fifth sake brewery in the Sake Festival is Lagoon Brewery's Shozora. It's not a sake, so it's a bit of a change of pace, but it's a good combination of sake and beer. The aroma of hops and sake are mixed together and it goes into the nose, and the sweetness and bitterness are also mixed in. I think this is a good idea.
The fourth sake of the sake camp is "Kanaderu", an ambitious sake produced by the Obata Shuzo brewery of "Manotsuru". It is said to be a slightly sparkling sake, but it is not a slightly sparkling sake, but a full-fledged sparkling sake...it is good, but.... But there are many delicious sakes from Sado Island, aren't there?
The third sake festival in Niigata is Marubin, which is the most famous sake festival in Niigata. When I tasted the sake, it was so good that I impulsively tweeted on a certain social networking site, "This year's Marubin is the best ever"...and to top it all off, I grabbed a person who I thought was related to the brewery and said, "I always drink the sake with a package tag, but this year's Marubin is too good! Thank you very much.
It's a very fresh sake, so I recommend you to drink it as soon as possible, not to say within two months... In any case, I'm glad I was able to drink it again this year, that I am.
The second sake tasting is from Hara Sake Brewery of Koshinohomare. Actually, the best one we tasted at the Hara Sake Brewery was "Koshinohomare 90 Pink", but the brewer told us that it was sold out before the Sake-no-jin... so we bought the second best one. But of course, it is delicious and sweet. It's close to Kouraku, which I've had so far. It's very close to Kakuraku.
I went to the Niigata Sake Festival again this year, and the first one was "Kosumori". I had already decided to buy this one before the tasting, but I was able to buy it easily without waiting in line. My impression was... it was like being hit in the head with a fruity sensation. Anyway, I wonder how many more will be released this year... I'm looking forward to it!
I bought Shinshu Kamerei again. Because it was there, I had no choice but to buy it. It is made from local sake rice, Yamae-Nishiki, and it is a bit spicy and fresh, and it is great when you put it in your mouth and let it go down your throat!
