Since I came to Akita, I must have Shinmasa! However, the liquor store near the brewery only sells sake wholesale to stores. I persisted and asked the sake brewer for some sake, and it was the only one that had it. I have never had a sake with such a sparkling flavor...maybe the best sake I have ever had. It tasted like pears, not too strong, not too sweet, not too spicy, and the sake was so perfectly balanced!
