I was told of its existence at a sushi restaurant in Roppongi in 2018 or so. Since then, I kept finding it and then passing it up because of my refrigerator situation, and when I wanted to buy it, it was sold out, so it was off my wish list. But this time, I happened to see a review of it at a certain liquor store, and it looked delicious, so I ignored my refrigerator situation and went out and bought it. I wonder if the aroma is quite weak. I've been drinking a lot of fragrant stuff lately, so maybe my nose is getting a little stupid... but it has a nice muscat aroma. But it has a nice muscat aroma! I love this! I was so swooning that I couldn't help but read the words in a robotic tone. The elegant grape-like aroma. Wine? The taste is completely different from wine, though, as there is no astringency. The acidity and aroma make it seem fruity. At first it seems dry, but as the temperature rises in the mouth, the sweetness that appears and the hints of aroma make it seem juicy somehow. It is beautiful, but it is not limited to that; you can also taste a voluminous fullness, which is very satisfying. It is the most delicious wine I have had recently! Impressive!

Hi flos_lingua_est 😃 Oh, it looks like you got into this one perfectly: ☺️ This time it's brewed by Mitobe Brewery, but I've never had Yamagata Masamune yet either, so I'm suddenly curious. I'd love to try this one too 🤩.

I stopped by the brewery for the first time in a while. I used to have a special fire-brewed junmai and a sake called "Mariko no shu" which is named after the female toji (master brewer?). Both were quite dry, classical sake. Both were quite dry classical sake, and I had the impression, for better or worse, that this is what local sake is supposed to be like. This was probably my first nigori sake, but it looked delicious, so I bought some! I wondered if the beautiful woman at the sales counter was Mariko herself? It has a classical aroma with a banana feel. It is more of a hint than a standing aroma. It has a classical taste and is dry, but you can drink it by itself if you want! It is very easy to drink because it has a lot of turbidity, which gives it a strong umami flavor and makes it easy to taste the sweetness. I drank it with kimchi nabe (kimchi stew), and I think it goes well with strong flavors and nabe dishes! It also seems to go well with meat, and I am sure it would go well with ginger-grilled pork or chicken steak. I imagine it is like Kikuhime nigori or Tamagawa nigori! To be honest, I think it's one of the best in the Koshu Plum Grove, so I'd be happy to buy a bottle and drink it slowly. It can probably be stored at room temperature until early spring.

This is the first Shinanotsuru I drank this year, and I am already on my second kind! Before drinking it, I had an image of it being like Kameizumi cel-24, but was it really... Huh? Is this standing aroma Hanayo? Mutsu Hassen? And when I put it in my mouth, the hint of aroma was quite mild, like a hana-yosu. The taste is also similar to that of Hana-yosuyu, gorgeous but with a hard, classic impression. It has a clean and refreshing mid-palate quality. Combined with the sense of alcohol, I think that is why it is surprisingly classical. The sweetness is not so much, and the umami is not strong either, but it is there and can be matched with meals to some extent. From the third day, it starts to come together... it's like a "hana-hou-yoku" (sun shower). It is gorgeous, but not sweet and sour like Kameizumi cel-24. If you want to drink Hanayo but can't find it, but you can buy Shinanotsuru, please try it.

One of the sakes that impressed me last year. Hououmida is not my favorite because it has too much apple or pineapple aroma, but this one is moderate so I don't mind. I wonder if I like it because it is especially gentle on the palate. The aroma is tropical and capsule-like, typical of Hououmida. It should not be too strong, but I don't dislike it at all. Maybe I'm liking it because I keep drinking Cap-like alcohol? LOL! There is a hint of apples, but the strongest aroma is that of melon soda! There are hints of grapes and muscat, but this is an adult melon soda! Unlike a simple melon soda, you can keep drinking it without getting tired of it, and it's extremely tasty! It is an active nigori with a hint of nigori rather than ogara-migori. It has the mellowness of a cloudy sake, the stimulation of bubbles from the light but active nigori, and the fruity aroma, which may be derived from wine yeast or the Hououomida character, all of which are very pop and delicious elements. The sweet, delicious, acidic, and bitter tastes all have no spicy flavor, from the aroma to anything else, so you can enjoy them beautifully as a natural series of flavors. I like it so much that I wonder if they will make a summer sake ver. like WINE CELL SPARKLING SUMMER lol.

I thought I could drink Kameizumi cel-24 anytime since it is sold in many stores, but I had been neglecting it for almost 10 years... I thought I would never drink it if I missed it here, so I ordered it at an izakaya! I really wanted to drink Jikin Special Junmai, but... lol! When I took a sip, the strong fruity aroma of pineapple, melon, and karin, and the juicy sweet and sour aroma filled my mouth and seemed to escape into my nose. If you like this kind of sake, you can drink it for the rest of your life! I think many sake beginners will start with this one! Seriously, it's amazing! I like this kind of sake once in a while! I might even buy some for home drinking... I think I'll buy some to drink at home... There was a time when Senkyoku had a series of sweet and sour flavors like this, wasn't there? I wonder if they will make something like this again as a seasonal product lol (I always say that)

Personally, Kawanakajima and Genmai are more difficult to obtain than Jyushiyo. I think Marie Antoinette once said, "If you can't buy it, just drink it at an izakaya," so this time I gave up on Jikin and tried it! It has a good balance of sweetness, umami, and acidity, and perhaps because it comes after Kameizumi, it gives a subdued impression, but it also has a strong ginjo aroma, so I think it would be absolutely gorgeous if drunk on its own. There is also a botanical impression somewhere, like shiitake mushrooms and earth. Hence, it is not completely for beginners, but I thought it is a sake that is popular with everyone, from moderate beginners to sake drinkers, which is no wonder it is so popular. I would have liked to drink it when the temperature was a little higher... I think I would like it more when the umami flavor opens up...!

I've had junmai ginjo and others, but I finally got to drink this honmaru! How many years has it been since I've wanted to try it? This is amazing! It's soft and light, with no unnecessary heaviness and a clear, beautiful sake quality. It has a sweetness, but it's just so sharp! This is my favorite of all the Jyushidai I've had! The other Jyushiyo's I've had have a strong aroma and sweetness, but this one has just the right amount of saltiness. It's al-soze, isn't it? I didn't know it was possible to make a sake with an aroma so close to that of junmai, but with the benefits of al-soze! It's really amazing! If you can buy it at the regular price, I don't think you can find a sake as cosy as this one. If only I could buy it at regular price. lol lol lol.

I was so impressed with this wine that I drank it before. We opened the bottle with high expectations for this miraculous bottle, which is both modestly gorgeous and mellow... The aroma is a combination of pineapple and melon. Every time you take a sip and swallow a little bit, this aroma comes rushing back again and again, and the Huayouyasumi character is tremendous. Whether intended or not, it is like a celebrity who insists all the time that "this is me," and has a very clear character. For example, Anochan, lol. It is characterized by a fruity and juicy aroma of sweet and sour. It tastes like a mass of intertwined sweet and savory flavors sitting right at the core. The final taste is a bitterness and umami, and I wonder if it is this umami that makes Hana-yosu so special. I don't know if I should have let it sit for about three months but it was still a bit stingy, or if I should have drunk it sooner, but once again, I thought it was a sake that beginning sake drinkers would be hooked on! It is a delicious sake with a fruity taste that is hard to believe it is made from rice.

Abeno's new sake season is upon us, and following on from the Junmai we had the other day, this time it's Junmai Ginjo! Following the Junmai we had the other day, this time it is Junmai Ginjo, born in October 2023 and shipped in November...so vol. 6, they have been making raw sake for quite a while now, lol! The aroma reminds me of lactic acid and ama-amai acid, which I like. And the fact that it is not excessive is wonderful! Immediately after taking a sip, it has a lactic acidity, then a juicy sourness, and a hint of banana. The flavor is full, the umami expands at once, then the citrus-like bitterness fades away, and finally the sweetness gently peeks out and disappears. Abeno Jungin Nama is really high quality! Because it is so easy to drink, one might think it was sweet, but as usual, the sweetness is kept in check by the acidity, giving it a mid-palate feel. So it goes well with meals. This time I paired it with kimchi nabe, and the acidity went great with the kimchi. The fire-brewed version has a more subdued flavor and is more suitable for eating, but the draft version has the potential to be drunk on its own, making it the most versatile wine for any occasion.

The middle of the leap issue that I couldn't drink 4 years ago. The hurdle has been raised because the Ara Seme was so good, but how about this one? The nose has a gorgeous pineapple-type ginjo aroma. When you drink it, it has a gorgeous aroma similar to pineapple, peach, or melon, but there is more to it than aroma. ......What is this softness? You will be surprised at the softness of the mouthfeel, which is hard to reconcile with the gorgeousness of the aroma! Many sake with such a gorgeous aroma have a harsh pungent taste or a bad smell behind the good aroma, but there is none of that! It is sweet, but the acidity effectively suppresses it each time. It is sweet, but the acidity effectively suppresses it each time. It also has a juicy acidity that, combined with the aroma, makes it look gorgeous. If you dare to let it roll around in your mouth for a while, you will find bitter and pungent tastes, but even these are good accents. When I first started drinking sake, I could only enjoy sweet and capsicum-type sakes that were not gorgeous, but my tastes have changed a lot since then. But now my tastes have changed a lot. This was a wonderful sake that reminded me of those days and that I could truly enjoy!

Hakone Drink Comparison Set (3) On March 1, after a year-long event, I went on a trip to Hakone as a way of consolation! The local sake was served to compare with Japanese kaiseki. Is Hakone Ginjo the name of the brand? However, I am not sure because the name does not come up at all when I looked it up on Google... I haven't had a fire-brewed ginjo-shu in a long time. The ginjo aroma is pleasant. It has an elegant aroma and sharpness, and is the smoothest dry sake of them all. It is very good as a food sake for Japanese food, and goes well with white fish and vegetables. It is also good with sashimi!

Hakone Drink Comparison Set (2) On March 1, after a year-long event, I went on a trip to Hakone as a way of consolation! The local sake was served to compare with Japanese kaiseki. It was my first time to try Hakonezan! This is the spiciest sake in the group. It is a dry ginjo-shu as you might imagine, but it is moderately rich and very good as a mid-meal drink. Of course, it goes well with ingredients as they are, but it also goes well with dishes that have been added, such as those using dashi (Japanese soup stock)!

This is the second consecutive month that Rokumaru has been lightly cloudy. Personally, Yamadanishiki was number one in the first half of 2023, so I was aiming to buy this series when I found it, and forced myself to buy it under the tight fridge situation lol. Both the standing and lingering aromas are pineapple-like in accordance with the Rokumaru concept. The composition is quite interesting, with a restrained sweetness, a strong umami, a bit of acidity, and a moderate bitterness. For a sake with this kind of aroma, the bitterness is quite noticeable. Thanks to this, it is not too modern and juicy beyond the aroma, but it is not classical either, but it is a niche sake of a type that is not likely to be found anywhere else. I think people who are into it will have a hard time getting into it. On the second day, the aroma was mild, and the slight carbonation, refreshing acidity, and dry flavor were wonderful... It went too well with Cardi's white truffle casserole. It's like a cider, but mature and goes with the meal....what a great wine! The aroma was quite different from that of Yuyamanishiki, and I realized the depth of Rokumaru. I hope to encounter Yamada-Nishiki again this year..!

Reached 100 check-ins at one location~! I guess I'm the only one who has done this since you guys don't check in to places very often...? LOL! This record was achieved only because this is a store where I like to drink a lot of alcohol! I will continue to use Ozaki Shoten from now on. So it's "Abe" time! I haven't seen Abe since the end of October. Oh, how I've missed you, Abe-chan! I'm so happy to see you again after so long, I'm about to cry lol. You can enjoy the Abee-ness and the orikarami-style of the new sake with a sense of fizz and lactic acidity along with the acidity. Then comes a quite pungent acidity and a dry mouthfeel. After the sweetness and slight bitterness, the umami comes in as if replacing the sweetness, then the sweetness appears again, and finally the weak bitterness comes and goes. The low alcohol content, the light mouthfeel, the lack of stinginess, the fruity acidity...well...isn't this...like Shinsei right after pouring? LOL! The sweetness has a richness like brown sugar, and the aberrancy starts to appear in the middle, but I was surprised at first by the aroma that says it can do this much!

How long has it been since I've had a drink at Ding Dong? If I force myself to pull up my memory, it has probably been 5 years since 2019. The ginjo aroma is of tropical fruit, similar to a gorgeous pineapple or melon. There are also some floral notes. The fruity acidity along with the aroma also contributes to this odd drinkability. Although it is a sweet wine, the sweetness is extremely elegant and not at all unpleasant. If the acidity were any higher, the wine would be too juicy to drink on its own, but the moderately low acidity makes it easy to pair with light meals such as salads. Many of these types of sakes are gorgeous and have sharp edges, making them surprisingly difficult to drink, but this one has no edges, so it is easy to drink anyway! This is just as easy to drink as a Hanahayo or Jyushiyo! And at 1,600 yen including tax, it's too good to be true! If you want a sweet drink, this is the one from now on, right? LOL! It's the type of gorgeous, yet clear, celebrity-like wine that is sure to be popular. It is a tropical, gorgeous sweet sake that has impressed me for the first time in a long time!

I buy Ona's Nigori-shu every year, and last year I bought a bottle because the year before last's was a supreme masterpiece. I was looking forward to buying it again this year, but for some reason it was not in stock at my usual store..! I happened to run into it at Ikebukuro Tobu. It happened to be the last one! I haven't bought it here in years... The aroma is quite weak, but grain-based, rustic and unobtrusive. Dare I say it's pear-like. It's my favorite aroma without much of the capricious ginjo aroma. This year it is much sweeter than last year! Sentori Yukidaruma is the closest to it. It is very interesting because each flavor comes and goes depending on the acidity! For example sourness and umami, weak bitterness, sourness, sweetness, lactic acidity, brown sugar-like sweetness, umami and strong bitterness. The breakdown changes a little each time you drink it, so it is fun to drink. It has a strong lactic acid drink feeling and rice flavor, and personally, I can drink it by itself all the time. It is a food sake, though, so drinking it with a meal will bring out the best of this sake. The slightly sparkling, fresh taste makes it an excellent match with izakaya food! It is a good match for food that goes well with beer or highballs.

The one I liked best in the first half of last year was Shinomine Rokumaru Usu Nigori (light nigori). At that time, it was Yamada Nishiki. This year, I thought I would start with this Yuyamanishiki... I wasn't thinking about it, but when I saw it, I bought it immediately lol. It has a botanical catty aroma of grain, alcohol, and some kind of grass or herbs. It has a light micro-firing when you drink it, so it is slightly energetic on the palate. It has a very unique flavor with umami, bitterness, and the aforementioned aroma. It is not unpleasant, so you can enjoy it until the end. After the acidity is felt, the umami is tasted carefully, and the sweetness, which was not visible due to the acidity, appears after the acidity disappears, finishing with the bitterness. This is interesting! I have often experienced sweetness disappearing with acidity at the end, but I don't think there are many cases where sweetness appears at the end. It is so fresh and innovative that it makes me excited every time I drink it. I think the sweetness is full-bodied because it is brown sugar-like.

Here it comes, Kuroryu! We've had two autumn harvests, so now it's time for the popular Doroguchi. I've seen it posted many times but this is my first time to drink it. It is orikagara, and there is a very soft tailing. When you turn the bottle upside down, you can see the tailings dancing as if you were looking at a tank of jellyfish. The standing aroma is melon and magic ink, a bit more pronounced than banana. When you drink it, it is very tasty at this point with a strong umami as if it is a powerful sake. The acidity gives it a juicy, fruity character, which is why it has a classical yet modern taste. The wine finishes with a medium to slightly strong bitterness. It is unmistakably a food wine, but I think there are many people who can drink it on its own. I would recommend it to be chilled for a meal because you want to taste the mellow flavor. For sashimi, I recommend strong flavors such as tuna or blue fish, and for Japanese food, I think it would go well with pots, stews, and Chinese dishes with a slightly strong flavor. It seems to go well with the bitter taste of green peppers in chinja rosu!

Nice to meet you, Shinanotsuru - I have been hesitant about Shinanotsuru for a long time because the label is so cool, but I took the plunge and bought it because it has a good reputation and I have never missed it in Nagano Prefecture's sake! The nose has a gentle but firm core of ginjo aroma. When you drink it, there is a hint of young melon, but it is more like a melon that has started to ripen. The aroma is more Andean than Yubari, with refreshing overtones. On the second day, this aroma changes to melon or pineapple! Is that possible? Is it a misunderstanding? I wonder if it is a change in impression due to acidity... Ah, of course it is delicious! You can drink it by itself all the time, but it tastes better with a meal! It goes well with sauteed mouka sharks in butter and miso nabe! I have no idea where I can find a special distributor or retailer, or where I can always buy it, but this new sake made me think that if I could find a store, I would go there to buy it. But I have no idea where you can always buy it, but if I knew where to buy it, I would try to buy it. LOL!
