At home. Sake tasting party with friends after a long time. We brought our own sake. First up was a local sake from Echigo-Yuzawa, a gem bearing the name of the first head of the Shirataki Sake Brewery. The aroma is gorgeous, and in the mouth you can taste the acidity and umami, with a slight lingering alcohol taste. It leaves a slightly bitter or rough feeling in the back of the throat. The Shirotaki Shuzo is known for its Kouzen Nyosui, which has a fuller aroma and taste compared to the Kouzen Nyosui. The bottle was also unusual, with an innovative volume of 630 ml. This is the first brand I've seen and the taste is great. ‼️

A gift from Sawanoizumi The Jun Dai I drank before was a Miyagi sake, beautifully light and dry, and I felt (selfishly) the earnestness of the toji (master brewer). I had an image of a modest, but firm, light, dry Kura. And then there is this special pure Sawanoizumi. It does not have much of a topping aroma, but the mouthfeel is surprisingly sweet and umami! It is sweet to the level of the Hitakami, and the robust umami is also very tasty! It has a light acidity and bitterness, followed by a refreshing sharpness. It's good! This is good! The price is relatively cheap, about 1300 yen for a four-pack, but it is convincing enough! Ishikoshi Brewery. I underestimated you. Sorry about that. I stopped by the brewery for the first time in a while. I used to have a special fire-brewed junmai and a sake called "Mariko no shu" which is named after the female toji (master brewer?). Both were quite dry, classical sake. Both were quite dry classical sake, and I had the impression, for better or worse, that this is what local sake is supposed to be like. This was probably my first nigori sake, but it looked delicious, so I bought some! I wondered if the beautiful woman at the sales counter was Mariko herself? It has a classical aroma with a banana feel. It is more of a hint than a standing aroma. It has a classical taste and is dry, but you can drink it by itself if you want! It is very easy to drink because it has a lot of turbidity, which gives it a strong umami flavor and makes it easy to taste the sweetness. I drank it with kimchi nabe (kimchi stew), and I think it goes well with strong flavors and nabe dishes! It also seems to go well with meat, and I am sure it would go well with ginger-grilled pork or chicken steak. I imagine it is like Kikuhime nigori or Tamagawa nigori! To be honest, I think it's one of the best in the Koshu Plum Grove, so I'd be happy to buy a bottle and drink it slowly. It can probably be stored at room temperature until early spring.

This is my first time in Kumi no Ura. I've only seen it at Isetan Kyoto. It has a fruity aroma, light and refreshingly sweet. It seems to be popular among women. It is different from the impression on the label.

It is that time of year again! This year's Mr. Summer Time was a grand presentation event, inviting circus members to the Kanmei Sake Brewery for a mini-concert of sorts. I couldn't go, though. The aroma of this year's product is a little subdued. I like that mewashi aroma, though. The mouthfeel is strong and dark, and the harmony of umami and sweetness is wonderful! It is a departure from the low-alcohol, light summer sake style, and is more like a munchy, dirty summer night. Despite the strong flavor, the sharpness of the sake is very refreshing, so it is easy to drink. Of all the summer liquors, this one is my favorite. Thank you very much for your kindness!

The second drink at Marukoma was my first "Koshu". It is light and crisp with a pleasant lingering aftertaste. The second sake was "Koshu", which is also from Niigata but has a different flavor from the "Hokusetsu" that we drank for the first sake 🎵.

Downhill Sake Story Event 3) From the Itami Laematsu Sake Brewery, established in 1688, we drank "Laematsu" Itamigo Special Honjozo, a highly prestigious sake for the Shogun.
