This is the first time I've seen this warehouse. The rice used is Maikaze. As the name suggests, everything, including the yeast, is from Gunma, and it seems to be an annual event. The mouthfeel is mild. It is bitter-sweet with a slight banana aroma. It gently finishes with a hint of umami. It seems to have a lot of depth. Well-balanced and cohesive sake. After a few drinks, it was quite late, so I headed home while eating a golden dharma bento commemorating the 140th anniversary of Takasaki Station. I will close my Gunma trip with "Akagisan" and "Funao Taki"! Sweet and sugary aroma like sugar. At home. My first Kamo Nishikishu. Almost no aroma. Slightly carbonated and alcoholic in the mouth. It has acidity and umami, but the bitterness is strong at the end. I'll try to warm it up a little and see if the taste changes after tomorrow.

The next drink was a Tokujiro for Joyo's distributor? Tokujiro I drank Joyo several times, but this was my first time to drink Tokujiro. I happened to see on a restaurant instagram I follow that Tokujiro was originally a joint product between a Hirakata liquor store and the Joyo Brewery. It's unfiltered, once-bottled, and heated. It's fire-brewed, but it's still slightly effervescent and has a fresh, mellow rice flavor that's really tasty 😋. I'll buy Tokujiro next time I see it.

Tonight, I'm still in X'mas mode + I'm dropping my first series 💁. Tsuneyama Sparkling Nigori Sake 2023BY ✨🫧. I'm on a nigori road, but I'm not able to keep up with it because I want to buy more and more one after another 😅 So, let's drink it right away. This sake is also made from 100% Gohyakumangoku. The bottle was opened safely, but the gas came up and the lees were like a cloud. ☁️ Automatic stirring is complete 🫡. The aroma is clean with a nice lactic acidity and the taste is very dry with bitterness and alcohol as the main ingredients 😋😋😋😋 This sake is even drier than Hirotogawa Nigori, so it is suitable for those who prefer dry sake and can be served as a food wine 🍶.

KATSURAGAWA, which had been laid up for about a year and a half. It's too early to tell, but I'm looking forward to a summer sake on the rocks, and this time I'll have a glass of the standard warmed sake 🍶. When I opened the bottle and poured it, the aroma was freshly cooked and fluffy, like rice cakes or rice. It is a four-step glutinous rice brewing process. The mouthfeel is smooth like Gunma sake, but gradually a gentle and deep sweetness like sugar or spuds spreads gradually. When heated, it has a full-bodied, rice-like flavor. The sweetness is not too strong, but rather relaxing. Perfect for enjoying in the colder months. The sweetness itself is more subdued than the normal type, but on the other hand, you can fully enjoy the cleanliness that is typical of Gunma sake, which is a good balance!

As the summer is drawing to a close (the heat is still on), I opened a bottle of "Katsuragawa" sake on the rocks, which I was looking forward to drinking again this year! And the back of the bottle is falling apart due to condensation again😇. When we opened the bottle and poured it, the aroma was sweet and fluffy, typical of "Katsuragawa". It is a bit sour and comes in through the nose as if it is cold on the rocks. The mouthfeel has a pettiness by default, but on the rocks it is smooth and silky. It has a fluffy aroma like sweet rice crackers and a syrupy sweetness of shaved ice. As the ice melts, it becomes lighter and more enjoyable ✨. The lingering finish has a slightly tangy, spicy acidity and a tropical fruitiness, and the smart finish keeps the saké going! While listening to the chirping of autumn insects 🍶. I think it's time to open a bottle of "Akagisan" summer sake!
