I purchased it at a liquor store (Tastovan Ofunato) on my trip. Hamamusume is a sake distributed only in Iwate Prefecture. I rarely buy it, so I went all out and got a bottle! LOL! My impression was that it was less sweet and aromatic than AKABU, and had a calming taste. I would say it is more of a food sake than a stand-alone sake. Either way, a delicious sake. I am glad I had it!

I bought it at a liquor store (Ofunato) where I was traveling. It is brewed exclusively for Tastovan, a sake specialty store in the prefecture, by the Shiwa Sake Brewery, which is famous for its "Hiroki" and "Shiwa. The aroma is subdued and the taste is refreshing. It is a bottle of sake with a calmness that is not typical for a sake made from unpasteurized sake.

The regular Atago no Matsuri is designed as the "ultimate food sake," but this one is said to be quite different, and I was curious to buy it. The aroma is gorgeous! The sweetness is fine and clear. It is a high quality bottle as it is an exhibited sake. One word: delicious!

In such extreme heat (I drank it last September), I want something shaken up, not just the flavors I normally drink. lol Oh, this is just out of the ordinary. The sake level is an astounding -44! The sweetness is tart. As the label design suggests, it has a strong lemon-like acidity. I ended up drinking it as is, but it would also be delicious with soda or on the rocks.

The label is an image of long autumn nights, not unlike summer sake. The design is tasteful. It's nice. The aroma is sweet, like ripe strawberries. The taste is also mild, which again overturns the image of summer sake. This is a bottle that should be savored slowly, not in large quantities. This sake is said to be named after a song by the chorus group Circus (this sake was born out of a chance to hold a live concert at a sake brewery). I am not from that generation, but I knew the name of the group and the name of the song. Their signature was also printed on the label. I later realized it after an internet search... LOL!
