Despite its appearance,
It is not harsh and spicy, but rather a deliciously smooth sake.
The 17% alcohol content is not as strong as the sake. (Dangerous: ⚠️
The lack of sweetness makes it taste more like sake! I thought so at first sip, but the taste doubled when paired with food.
The dry, mellow chart is convincing.
It becomes more and more delicious!
Recommended for those who like lukewarm or hot sake.
Hiyoroshi Omachi!
It has the clarity and freshness that I personally feel in Mimuro Sugi, but also has the mildness and mellowness that is typical of hiyaoroshi.
At 13% alcohol, it is light, but not too dry, so you can enjoy the flavor.
It is in the same lineage as Yoshida Kurau.
If I have a chance, I would like to drink it again this season.
This is a bottle of Nijyumaru, the perfect food sake!
Sweet, sour, bitter, none of them are strong, but well balanced, and when you notice it, it's like you're going on.
The barometer of my liking is there!
The label is not flashy, but the ruggedness of the bottle is not out of place.
If you don't like modern fizz or sweetness, this is for you!
Time difference notes.
The hiyaoroshi season is limited, so the pace is very fast.
Is the alcohol content high for a ganki?
It is more robust than I imagined.
I drank Miyazumi (Junmai) from the same brewery, so I bought this for comparison. It is a famous sake brewery, but surprisingly, I had never bought and drank it properly...
According to the shopkeeper
Miyazumi→Local distribution
Sharaku -> wider distribution channels, higher quality
The shopkeeper told me that Miyazumi is a local brand with a wide distribution channel and higher quality.
The labels on both have a stately, long-established feel, but the Sharaku seems sharper.
If you have compared them, I would love to hear your thoughts!
2025 Hiyoroshi, the first bottle for the anniversary.
Last year I couldn't drink it due to various reasons.
First impression
Acid -> bitter -> watery
I tried it cold or at room temperature, but my impression was the same...
Sweet, simple without complexity.
At first it was a bit sweet, but after a few days, the sweetness has disappeared in a good way and only the simple flavor can be felt. There is also a dry feeling.
Ripe dry banana
It's like the white fiber part of a banana.
It is another brand of Sharaku sake brewery,
Miyazumi has limited distribution channels (?). I heard that the distribution route of Miyazumi is limited(?).
I would like to repeat it if I can find it.
Omachi again... I like Omachi so I tend to take it.
I've had it a few times as a gift, but this is the first time I've been attracted to buy it myself.
When I drank it again,
The sense of balance is overwhelming.
It is not as heavy as I would like, but it is mellow and dry, so I am satisfied with the taste.
First encounter here 😯.
It is dry to the throat, like Sogen, and even bitter.
It doesn't go well with heavy sake cups.
The taste changes a bit with a thin glass.
0812 Postscript
The sea urchin and fatty tuna we got at Kakunoue gave it a much better flavor.
Omachi! The first time I saw this label.
It was at a liquor store back home, which had become a special distributor of Kurogyu.
Although it is my favorite brand, the last one I drank had a very strong image of Kurogyu.
This one has the same sake and alcohol content as indicated on the label, and I like it a lot because of its smooth taste with a clean aftertaste.
First sip: strong impact of fizz.
A little uncomfortable as I am not good at fizzing.
There is a mucky smell.
Slightly dry, with a clean aftertaste.
It is good as the temperature drops and it settles down.
Not much of the graininess I was looking forward to in Omachi.
A nice bottle with a summery label.
We matched it with the perfect Ryukyu glass sake cup.
The aroma of rice is strong.
It is said to be brewed by a female toji.
