It's not easy to find rice wine in Akita. I bought it when I went out of the prefecture. It took about 6 hours to get here, and I brought it home after chilling it. I've been drinking a lot of sake in the prefecture lately, so it's been a while. I fell in love with sake because of the delicious Akita sake, but recently I've been surprised by the high quality of sake from outside of the prefecture. I think that most of the sake from Akita is either light and sweet like Shinsei and Yamamoto, or sweet and savory like Ichibai Suisei and Hanamura, but I think that there is more rich sake like Fukushima from outside the prefecture.
This is the second time I've had Denshu, and I wasn't too impressed when I had it in Hirosaki before, but this one has a good balance of ama-umi and acidity, and the mellowness is wonderful. The aroma is also pleasant.
It's not available in Akita, but if you find it, buy it. Repeat ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
