Arrival at today's inn. We will have a yakimugi bento (barley lunch box) bought at Tosu station on the way to the hotel! When the bottle is opened, it has a pudding-like aroma. It has a mild, pudding or custard-like flavor, just like the standing aroma, and the soft, round sweetness is really pleasant! The tanginess of the brewing alcohol can be felt directly afterwards, but it can be enjoyed with a good balance! I couldn't distinguish it from the one-cup sake for a moment, but it is a fine Saga sake.

Due to personal circumstances, I ordered my sake in October 2024 and did not actually receive it until May 2025. Nevertheless, it remains the most surprising sake ever! It goes well with a variety of foods and is very easy to drink straight. Importantly, the flavors do not deteriorate after six months of standing, but rather retain their elegance. When I finished this bottle, I made up my mind to try all of Kangiku Shuzo's products (I later learned that Kenaiyama was already among the best, lol). Available for repurchase: ★★★★★★

This is a series of Discovery brewed by Kankiku Meijo. This sake uses Yamada-Nishiki and Gohyaku-mangoku, representative Japanese sake rice species. I was surprised to so fruity and sweet tastes and aroma, which doesn't need any side dishes for it. Really love it but maybe hard to get.

I'm not feeling well, so I've been trying to cut back on my drinking, but a classmate from junior high school, who I haven't seen in a while, invited me out for a drink and I ended up having one. Oh well. I found a nice bottle of Naotora and had it. It's so good that I remember it tastes good even when I'm drunk. It is a Junmai Daiginjo, but the freshness is dominant and the flavor is good. Isn't the difference between it and the ordinary Naotora too drastic?

I drink at a restaurant where young people seem to congregate. The owner, who says he is a big fan of Koyama Shoten, introduces us to some Koyama Shoten originals. Next to Tamitsu is Naotora. Rice used is Yamae Nishiki It is supposed to be a sake that goes well with mushrooms, but in the end I did not pair it with mushrooms. However, it has a gentle sweetness, and it was just plain delicious. It also had a mushroom-like flavor, though it was only vaguely. Bitter and astringent tastes are close to that. It's a sweet sake, juicy, but clear and elegant on the palate. It was well balanced and certainly seemed to go well with mushroom dishes.

At home. This is the third sake we were served at the sake tasting party. My first Nanbu Bijin. How can a sake from Iwate be called Nanbu? According to Wikipedia, it's because the location of the brewery was part of the Nanbu domain (Nanbu region) in the Edo period. My impression is that the alcohol is not strong, but the aroma is a bit characteristic. It's not fruity or grainy... I regret my lack of tasting ability and vocabulary. On the palate, the sweetness spreads, and the mouthfeel is smooth and the throat feels clear or light. It is a historical sake and I thought it would be heavier, but it was very easy to drink.
