My first Tokumasamune from Ibaraki Prefecture. Yesterday I drank it chilled, but today I drank it hot. The peculiar taste I felt yesterday turned out to be a nice soft sweetness when heated. This is the interesting thing about sake.
Happy New Year!
I drove to see my father at my parents' house nearby, so I picked up some osechi before dinner and had my first sake of the new year. I chose a junmai ginjo of Nitoshi.
The subtle bitterness of the sake makes the drink go down a treat. Tomorrow, I plan to start drinking in the morning while watching the Hakone Ekiden. Three days of the year are hard to resist for sake drinkers, aren't they? LOL.
The other day, I found a few bottles lined up at a sake store in the basement of Tokyo Station.
It had a beautiful balance of sweetness, bitterness, and acidity. It seemed a shame to drink it, but I couldn't wait for the next sip, and in no time at all, the bottle was empty.
We had Tomikyucho Junmai Ginjo cold for the first time in a long time. It is delicious with a beautiful sweetness that is typical of Tomikyunaga's junmai ginjo. The aroma is mild. It complements snacks.
On the way home from a business trip to Sendai, I spotted it at a liquor store in Sendai Station and bought it. I drank it cold yesterday, but it was a bit peculiar, so today I drank it hot. It slowly became more rounded and soaked into my body.
For the first time this season, I have my regular autumn/winter sake, Kikuhime Yamahai Junmai, hot. It's sizzling good. I don't like cold weather, but this is something I can enjoy.
Completely bought the packet.
It has a caramel-like aroma and a delicious flavor. I started drinking it cold, but I think it would be better hot. It's finally the season to enjoy hot sake.
I bought Gokeiji for the first time, which I had been curious about. It is fruity, but also has a strong alcohol taste and umami flavor, perhaps because it is hiyaoroshi (cold-roasted sake). It is a sake to savor long autumn nights.
Purchased my first brand in an autumn-inspired jackpot of Matsue Castle and Lake Shinji.
It has a refreshing taste that is appropriate for a super dry wine. I think I can keep drinking it.
After a successful break from work, I celebrated at home last night. I chose the gorgeous Kaze no Mori Aizan.
The pure sweetness and fizziness added to the sense of happiness. It was a nice choice, even for me.
Kuroryu in the evening, taking it easy during Obon. The melon aroma, typical of Kuroryu, is refreshing.
My wife and daughter are left alone, engrossed in (now) Love's Emergency Landing on Netflix. Oh well, that's the usual.
This is the first Souhyo. Junmai Daiginjo brewed with Gohyakumangoku from Tochigi Prefecture. From the label, it is a summer sake.
There is nothing strange or sharp about this sake, and you can feel the umami and sweetness of the rice straight away. It is a good sake that leaves a good impression.
