Today we will drink sake from Gifu Prefecture.
Junmai Daiginjo of Hourai, the main brand of Watanabe Shuzo in Hida Furukawa. It is also unfiltered raw sake. It is made from 100% Yamadanishiki.
It is sold only at the store directly from the brewery. Naturally, we bought it at the brewery.
The aroma is a sweet pineapple type ginjo aroma.
The sweetness and acidity are well matched on the palate.
It has a strong sense of richness, but the light bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste makes it not cloying.
The richness of the inside is truly a galaxy.
Watanabe Sake Brewery is a company that is very serious about what they do.
Drinking at home.
It's already December.
The year goes by fast, doesn't it?
Today is my day off from work, so I went to a new supermarket nearby to buy some snacks.
I chose roast beef, gari saba (mackerel), and chutoro (medium fatty tuna).
Today's sake is Hourai for the third time in a row.
Unlike the previous and previous junmai, this is a ginjo with added alcohol.
It does not have a fruity aroma and tastes like a Japanese sake.
When paired with chutoro (medium fatty tuna) or roast beef, it drains off the oil and is a refreshing drink.
It is a delicious food sake.
Rice (domestic), rice malted rice (domestic), 16% alcohol by volume, 55% rice polishing ratio
It has a refreshing taste but leaves a strong umami aftertaste in the mouth.
Hourai" is delicious. ❗️
We went to Takayama to stay overnight!
This is the sake my husband picked out for me at a store in Takayama that has a huge selection of sake.
It's dry!
It's got a crumbly texture!
The sake is so rich and goes well with Hoba Miso. It's a drinker's weekend!
