A sake with a hint of melon smell. Heavy flavor of rice. Typical refreshing sake, good to pair with any cuisine. The taste is simple and lacks character.
I found it at a roadside station and bought it without thinking. It was a limited edition bottle made last year to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the birth of GODZILLA.
It tastes like Chikuma-Nishiki, a traditional sake with a dry, guttural taste. I tasted it cold, so my impression might change if the temperature is raised.
This nigori sake had been sitting in the refrigerator for several months after purchase. The separation was so great that I mixed it well and opened the bottle.
I thought it would be easy to drink while the acidity was strong, but after a few minutes of opening the bottle, it had already solidified in the bottle. After mixing it well again, it became thick and coarse like amazake, and the acidity was not felt that much anymore.
This is an interesting nigori sake that changes in flavor as time goes by. It may be hard to find a nigori that is this thick and coarse.
A happy sake with gold dust.
I don't know what gold dust tastes like, but it does.
It has a robust flavor with a hint of brewer's alcohol at the beginning and a sweet mouthfeel with a clean finish that goes well with meals.
Chikuma-Nishiki is the first Chikuma-Nishiki pure sake in a long time. It was a happy miscalculation to be able to get it again, as it was only available in limited quantities.
Again, I enjoyed the rich and robust flavor.
It has sweetness, acidity, and a slight bitterness.
It was also somewhat spicy.
Delicious!
Yesterday's Otomo🍶.
I bought a bottle 🤭 because of the cute packaging.
I had it with oden and pork shabu-shabu.
Oden goes well with dry sake 🥰 It's been a while since I had a dry sake.
