The last sake of the year was a bottle of Hakutemi ๐Ÿถ. My wife worked late after work and fried tempura for me and we had it with New Year's Eve soba noodles ๐Ÿ™. It was at room temperature, but the moderate sweetness and slight bubbles went perfectly with the tempura ๐Ÿฅณ. I will continue to enjoy sake with an inquiring mind so that I can encounter a variety of sake next year ๐Ÿ‡.

We had it again this year! Kitajima Oorigarami, which we both like. The supernatant is sparkling and bubbly! When mixed with the lees, it has just the right amount of spiciness and umami to make an adult calpis ๐Ÿฅ›. This year it was a bit on the dry side, but it was consistently delicious ๐Ÿ˜™.

The owner's recommendation following the other day! As the name suggests, it is fresh and light, with a refreshing acidity, followed by a hint of sweetness and a strong umami taste ๐Ÿถ. It also has a strong alcoholic taste, which is something I have never experienced before ๐Ÿ˜š.
