This is my first New Year's Day back in my hometown Osaka. This year, my parents invited us to their department store Osechi. My sister and her husband brought me a bottle of Okutanba as a celebratory sake. You can feel the sweetness of the rice in the beginning, but it changes to a dry taste in the middle to the end. It is a perfect match for the richly flavored Osechi and fatty yellowtail sashimi. It is said that the sake degree is +5 (dry), but I feel that it is +2~3 (slightly dry?). I guess. Anyway, it was a delicious sake. Thanks to my sister and her husband!

The sake my sister and her husband served me at New Year's was so good that I decided to pick up another brand from the same brewery. Okutanba Junmai Ginjo. This is Yamana Shuzo's regular sake. As stated on the label, the brewery has a long history, having been founded in Kyoho. The Edo period (^_^;) is amazing. It was my wife's fourth birthday today. I really wanted to go out to eat, but the situation was such that we had a takeout party at a yakitori restaurant and drank at home. Thank you for your continued support. I had a cold glass of sake. Oh, dry? It's been a while since I've had a dry, crisp sake. Even though it's light and refreshing, you can still feel the taste of the rice right after you put it in your mouth. At the same time, there is a sense of alcohol, but the aftertaste is short, so it gives a refreshing impression. According to the brewery's website, it has a sake strength of +1. +Hmm? +1? It's not dry, is it? Once again, I realized that the accuracy of my tongue sensor is disappointing (tears). Well, everyone has their own way of feeling.

A crowdfunded return gift! It's Junmai Genshu 17%, once-hi-ire. We had it chilled! It has a thick and sweet taste of Junmai Genshu. I don't feel much acidity, but It's a sake you can drink easily. The wife next to me said it was delicious with a big smile on her face😁.

Halcyon looks just like poor grass, or so I found when I looked it up. Peach, lactic acid, wood, fresh smell. It has a light peachiness, a refreshing, yet tight acidity, a taste of rice, astringency, and finally a spiciness that spreads rapidly. It is delicious, but the price is too high. It is a good food sake, but the price is too high. It is too good to drink with chilled tofu. I like it. When I ate it with food, the spiciness I felt when drinking it alone was converted into umami, and the subtle sweetness and umami made me want to eat more. Myokayama is my first time. I bought it with Yume brew. The impression is that the acidity is strong at first. The rice is sweet and fresh. It has a little bit of cemedine. I would like to drink it with nabe (hot pot) or strong dishes. I did some research on this brewery and found out that it is owned by Oizumi, a pachislot-related company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It seems that Oizumi has a chain of izakaya (Japanese style pubs) and they serve sake there. It seems to have lost its cemedine taste and become sweeter than when I first opened it.
