The last sake we had at Kyoto Stand Kiyo Kiyo was "Toyoyo Junmai Dry Musou" by Mukai Shuzo, also from the Tango region. The rough and powerful label may represent the fishing scene in this area. When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the umami flavor and the aroma of rice is crisp and full. Even though it is called "Dry Musou", it has a hint of sweetness, which makes it a delicious cup. It has been a long time since I have had a good drink, and the best part of drinking outside by myself is that I can drink slowly while considering what to drink and what snacks to go with it, while keeping an eye on my pocketbook. I returned home refreshed both mentally and physically. From next time, I will introduce some of the sakes I took at the beginning of the year!

1853 2024/9 Kyo no Haru Junmai Nama Nigori Sake 67% 17° 24/8 A Ine-cho, Kyoto 720 1945 The bottle was warned to be opened with caution, but there was no fizziness at all, and the lees did not move even slightly. The first thing I did was to pour the clear sake into a cup, and even there I did not feel any fizz. But the taste is quite refreshing and delicious. After the second glass, I mixed the lees with the nigoromi (nigori)... Perhaps because the lees is so thick (about a quarter of the lees in stillness), the sake was a little heavy, beyond soft. It might be exquisite if gas were involved...but I kept on drinking. I had the impression that if there was a sense of effervescence... if there was no effervescence, the clear sake would be better.... On the second day, I had the clear sake and light nigori. Since I was enjoying Ine-Manbaike at the same time, I thought it would be good if they were from the same brewery, so I combined the remaining lees with Ine-Manbaike and enjoyed it as a mellow pink sake.

The It's mine series is sold in single bottles by Izumiya, a sake wholesaler in Nara, Japan. I was shopping at a department store when I saw it and chose four brands I had never had from a list of six: Harushika, Toyoshuku, Miyogiku, Izayo, Joyous Light, and Inaten. We started with Izuseio, which is brewed in Imai-cho, Kashihara, a town that has remained unchanged since the Edo period (1603-1868). It has a refreshing taste with just the right amount of rice flavor and acidity. As a side note for baseball fans, Ukyo Maekawa of the Hanshin baseball team turned 20 years old last year, and his grandfather bought this sake to wish his grandson a big leap forward, which they shared together.

At Izakaya It has a gorgeous ginjo aroma and is fruity. It has a nice lingering finish with just the right amount of umami and acidity. Rice: Hitomebore produced in Gunma Prefecture

The rice polishing ratio is 35% following the previous 50%. This sake is brewed with Gohyakumangoku from the brewer's hometown. It is sweet and sour, with a slight bitterness. My favorite type. It's good, I want to drink it again.

This is the first of two bottles of Kanto-no-Hana (Kanto no Hana) that I purchased at the direct sales store of Sei Shuzo when I went back to my hometown Gunma in the summer. In Tokyo, you often see Sei and HIZIRIZM as Sei Shuzo's sake, but this Kanto-no-Hana was the first bottle for me. The label features foil-embossed letters on a raised surface. Following the bottle-opening warning tag, I chilled it well and opened it slowly without any spurting. After stirring the lees and pouring it into a glass, bubbles gradually appeared on the inner surface of the glass. The aroma is mild, but when you drink it, you can taste the strong umami and acidity. It has a gaseous and fresh mouthfeel. It also has some classical sake nuances. It can be enjoyed on its own, but it also has a wide range of acceptability as a food sake that can be matched to both Japanese and Western occasions. This is the third sake from Gunma, following Sakiyami and Oze no Yukidoke. There are many other sake that I would like to try, such as Ryuki, Machida Shuzo, and Tsuchida. I will continue to enjoy sake from my hometown little by little.
