Memorandum for myself This is a drinking comparison with UA Snowman. The fizziness was stronger here. The color of the supernatant is almost transparent, which is different from UA. When I poured it into a glass, I could see the strong bubbles. When I put it in my mouth, I found it to be this, this, this! It is a slightly bitter Calpis with a moderate sweetness. It has a nice sharpness. Is it drier this year? In comparison with UA, I prefer the original one by far. I can taste various flavors in UA, but I felt that they are not integrated. On the other hand, I felt that everything was integrated in the original and it was very well put together. How about a repeat? Next year by all means!

Memorandum for myself Since it is Christmas, I will open two types of snowmen in order. It's a collaboration with United Arrows. The jackets are adorable. We were able to open the bottle without spurting out because we had let it sit for a while after purchasing it. The supernatant is a little yellow and mixed with lees and poured into a glass. I think there is less lees than a snowball. It has the same fizzy and bubbly sensation as the snowman. In the mouth, it is bitter and sour. There is also a refreshing sweetness. Various tastes come in turn. So this is nigori sake with an assemblage of flavors. It is completely different from the snowball sake I have been drinking. It is crisp and refreshing, so it seems to go well with all kinds of food. Would you buy it again? No, I wouldn't buy it at this price.

When poured into a glass, it is clear and smooth. The aroma is a little muscat? In the mouth, it was slightly fruity with a hint of bitterness. It was very youthful. After about the third day, the wine calmed down a little and the sweetness and umami became more apparent. I prefer it on the third day after opening the bottle. Would I drink it again? No, I don't think so.

I heard that it is only available in Niigata Prefecture, but I wonder how it is. Is it available at antenna stores? The bottle is opened with a screw cap, so it is not very vigorous. When poured into a glass, it is slightly cloudy, but I could not see much gasiness. The aroma is that of rum. It is sweet and bitter in the mouth. Ah, the kanji! It is sweet, but a refreshing bitterness comes quite a bit later. I felt it was difficult to match it with food. Would I repeat it? Probably not.

We had this at an izakaya (Japanese style bar) that we visited for dinner. The izakaya had a fairly large selection of local sake from Niigata Prefecture, and although I was very worried, I decided on this one, which I knew the name of but could not find locally. We poured a glass full of this sake. The color was clear. It was a little sweet in the mouth. It is not the fruity flavor that is popular, but the sweetness of the rice. It has a strong umami flavor and is clean and crisp. Is it a "light and delicious" sake? Ah, it is like a Niigata sake. Thank you very much.
