Kagoshima Tenpyo. First comes the umami, followed by the acidity. It has a moderate richness and a complex flavor that is not overly polished, which is typical of junmai.
It is not often seen, and I bought this one at Sumiyoshi Shuhan in Fukuoka, so I wonder where I will find it next...
My first Kagoshima sake!
I felt a slight sweetness and a bitterness at the end.
It is from a sake brewery that makes shochu, so I felt a hint of shochu in the aftertaste. Was it my imagination? It was easy to drink and delicious.
300ml ¥660- (tax included)
3.55 Mellow and sweet without unpleasant taste, a ladylike sake that passes smoothly on the tongue and palate. I never expected to find such a gentle sake in Kagoshima (in the Imo Shochu Kingdom of Arakure Satsuma Hayato).
A long-awaited sake from Kagoshima, Japan!
Surprisingly fruity and quite modern.
It is hard to imagine from Kagoshima, which has an image of shochu.
It is juicy, fruity, and full of sweetness,
It is juicy, fruity, and full of sweetness, yet has a soft acidity and a nice sharp aftertaste.
I thought I ordered it to fill up the Kagoshima prefecture in the app.
But it was so delicious that I was very satisfied with it.
Second day of Kagoshima trip!
I found another kind of Kagoshima local sake and ordered it!
I thought this one would be sweet, too, after reading other people's posts about Tenshu, but it's pretty easy to drink!
The aroma is like grapefruit. by husband.
The mouthfeel is a bit spicy, with sweetness coming later, I guess?
Kagoshima is famous for shochu, so I didn't have high expectations for sake, but both Satsushu Masamune and Tenpyo were easy to drink, so I was very satisfied!
I'm going to move on to shochu after this today. LOL!
I drank Tenshi, which I had heard was pretty good. It was better than I expected. It also has a muscat aroma like white wine. As expected from Nishi Shuzo, they are good at what they do.
Tenbei Junmai Ginjo
Fresh and delicious!
Fruity, I was allowed to drink it for the first time, but it is very perfect!
The second day was also delicious!
I was so shocked by what Kai said on YouTube about vacu-bans being meaningless, in fact, they may be evil, that I stopped drinking them immediately. LOL!
At Temmonkan, Kagoshima, Japan. Junmai-shu (pure rice sake) brewed by Nishi Shuzo, famous for its premium shochu "Tomino Hozan" and "Kitcho Hozan". This is a raw sake with juicy acidity. Delicious!
Fruity but not too assertive, it is surprisingly easy to drink! Kagoshima is known for its shochu culture! The image of Kagoshima as a shochu culture is betrayed in a good way 🤔This is the first sake from Kagoshima! We have only one more prefecture to go and we will conquer all 47 prefectures!
Today, my friend and I went to the main Mongolian ramen restaurant, Mongolian ramen Nakamoto, to enjoy spicy food and explore Hachigata Castle 🍶.
After walking around the magnificent castle ruins, it was time for sake. We had a lot of fun with some small talk! 👍
The first sake we rushed to drink was from "Tenpyo"!
Apple and berry-like aroma.
The mouthfeel is beautiful and the sweet, sour, spicy and astringent flavors are felt in sequence, with a juicy berry-like flavor.
The astringent sharpness at the end of the palate makes it enjoyable both on its own and during a meal!
