60%, 18%, alky, Wakayama yeast, Gohyakumangoku.
This is the first ginjo-shu that has appeared relatively recently.
Only the ginjo-shu is not made with Yamadanishiki, but with Ihyakumangoku.
It has a slight sweetness and a refreshing acidity, followed by a strong umami flavor and a sharp finish.
It is the least rich of all the Ryujinmaru sake, easy to drink, delicious, and hard to believe that it is 18 🤗.
This may be due to the difference in sake rice.
Continued from yesterday
Ryujinmaru Junmai Ginjyo Nama Genjyo
I changed the glass.
The aroma is gorgeous, sweet and elegant. ☺️
When I drank it, the mildness was quickly followed by a sweetness and umami that spread quickly.
The aftertaste was not so strong yesterday. As I was enjoying it, I could see the bitterness.
It is still an exquisite wine.
It's Ryujinmaru, which I put to sleep!
I hope he's ok 😅
Now it's time to open the bottle✨🥂✨
Sour aroma...
I thought it would have more of an aged aroma.
It's a rather nice aroma...
The color is a light amber💛
Mild in the mouth.
The full-bodied sweetness spreads slowly at first
Next comes the umami and bitterness.
Then the sourness passes through the nose.
After that, the sweet and bitter taste remains in the throat.
It is natural because it is laid down.
There is no freshness.
It's like a rich flavorful mouthful.
I thought it would go well with hot pot
But it's not so good.
I enjoyed it with katsudon (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice).
It's 18 degrees, so it's going to kick in later 😅
Tsubu, here's another one 😊.
I'm glad you like the sake that goes well with katsudon 😻I wish teishoku-ya's would have sake that goes well with it, even if they can't have such good sake 😁But I'm glad you noticed it 😳.
Good evening, Muro 😊.
I stock Dora-chan's favorite (sake that interests me), but 2 years ago I still didn't know Ryujinmaru 🫢I'm surprised you got there 😳If you're a Wataru fan, you have to drink it! Please contact Dora for the supplier 💁🤣.
Alcohol content 18%.
Ingredient rice: 100% Gohyakuman
Sake degree--Nihon Shudo
Polishing ratio: 60
It has a complex flavor, with a smooth mouthfeel followed by a spicy, but not only spicy, slightly sweet taste.
Ryujinmaru became famous through the manga "Moyashimon," but because it is made in a small brewery, it is not easily mass-produced and is said to be a miraculous sake. As usual, I was able to encounter the sake that I knew from "Moyashimon" and had hoped to try someday.
The taste is mellow, clear, and common...
It seems that the brewery is having trouble with this "common taste". I found out that the brewery's toji at the time of the explosion of popularity of "Moyashimon" passed away at a young age, and his wife has now taken over the brewery. Therefore, it seems that the Ryujinmaru of those days has changed a little.
Despite this background, it is hard for drinkers to have much to do with it.
I am an ordinary person who is not a sake taster or anything, so I don't have the vocabulary to describe this Ryujinmaru well, and as a result, I am sorry that I can't say anything more than "a common taste.
I thought, "I'll try it again in a few more years.
Classic aroma. Taste of something I've never had before. A strong alcohol taste rises to the nose. My throat feels irritated. But it is not unpleasant. Sweet but refreshing. Nutty. It's like rum raisins with cheese!
Yamada-Nishiki, 50%, 5,460 yen for 1 square bottle.
Following the May production (shipment), we drank the slightly aged August production. I savored the mellow flavor of the rice slowly and carefully. We drank the new nigori sake in parallel with the new sake at ☺️.
As you would expect, this brand would give you a much richer texture and also complexity in smell and taste. It actually offer a fresh cheese smell, together with some nuttiness of roasted nuts and chestnuts. Clear umami which is staying for long enough. Some coffee / toffee feel as well.
