Kido Junmai Ginjo Shiboritate. I still like Kido for some reason, don't you? The fact that it is the manager's recommended sake helps, too. It is still light, yet has a strong umami flavor. It is a fun sake to drink.
The light, refreshing, and easy-drinking taste typical of Gakki Masamune is maintained, with a stronger than usual sweetness, spiciness, and a hint of acidity. The balance is very well balanced.
Today is the birthday of the manager of my favorite sake store, Sake Cost Sake Brewery Ikebukuro Honten, so I went there to celebrate.
Jyushiyo Daiginjo Nama Ryu no Otoko. This is one of the most expensive premium sake that was opened for the manager's birthday.
This year, the quality of the Dragon's Bastard was very good, and it was very sweet and delicious. I don't remember Jyushiyo being this sweet. I can't get enough of it.
By the way, the label is a reprint of the label from the early days of Jyushidai.
Hiran BlackJack extremely dry. It's great that they have "Hiran", but I didn't expect this one. It is really dry, and even though it is a sake brewer's yeast, it has a very sharp taste. It has a good strength of flavor.
Tatenogawa Seiryu Junmai Daiginjo. I didn't expect to be able to drink this even though it is a standard sake. We are very grateful. The taste is clear and clean, and this is Tatenogawa.
After a night of overtime work and being very tired, I went to Fukuno Tori Iidabashi today. It was a Thursday in the latter half of August, so the restaurant was empty. The restaurant is prepared for the gathering and does not have any hiyaoshi sake on the menu.
First up was today's sake, Hideyoshi hideko Junmai Ginjo-shu, a sake served in Akita Prefecture. This sake is from Akita Prefecture, and this was our first meeting. It has a clean taste and light aroma. I wonder if I can drink this for less than 500 yen. ......
Ura-Kiyama Super Dry Junmai Daiginjo. The regular Ura-Kiyama is very fragrant, sweet, and gorgeous, but this one has the label backwards and the taste backwards as well. It is very sharp and very dry. This is the first time I've had it, and it's also very good.
Houou Mita Junmai Ginjo Reserve Orders Mita Aikoku. It is a 100% local sake made from 100% Aikuni rice grown in the former Mitamura area where the Kobayashi Brewery is located.
Unusually for a Houou Mita sake, it has a dry taste with a slight astringency in the back. However, it also has a clear aroma like a clear stream, and is a beautiful sake.
Today was a day for drinking out, after asking my wife to do a little too much. We went to the Sake Cost Sake Brewery in Ikebukuro.
The first glass was Kangiku Ocean99 Aomi. It is one of the sweetest of the Kangiku Ocean series, with a pineapple-like aroma and sweet and sour taste. The sweetness has a nice sharpness, as one would expect from Kangiku.
Sawanoi Tokubetsu Junmai Narukuchino no Sake. It is very sharp and has a bitterness that spreads quickly. It is a very drinkable sake. I have liked this one for a long time.
Today we went to Shuraku in Takadanobaba, which is closing at the end of this month. I heard that they are considering relocating and making a fresh start, so although it will be sad for the time being, I wish them the best.
The first one is Hishiko Junmai DRY from Niigata Prefecture. It is dry but softly sweet, and the bitterness that spreads slowly is pleasant.
Eikoufuji Itsusen Kazehada Junmai-shu. If Eiko-Fuji is called "Eiko-Fuji" in summer, it must be this one. It is crisp, dry, and refreshing. It is pleasant to drink.
On the last Friday of the month, I made a trip to Takadanobaba to visit Carrot Shop. Since it was after my payday, I was a little bit nervous.
First up was Hououmida Arashigiri Oshikiri Merger Junmai Daiginjo Unfiltered Hon Nama. Probably the type that combines the Arashigiri and Oshikiri parts. While the gorgeous aroma comes, it has a messy acidity and umami.
Senkori Tachiharu Asa Shibori Namaishimo Junmai Ginjyo Nama-nama-shu. Yay, a mouthful, lucky me. Slightly citrus aroma and acidity. Yuzu-like? A flavor that is hard to detect. Goes well with fatty dishes.
There wasn't enough sake to fill the glass, so I had a little more of another sake to make up for it. Koshino Katora Ryu. Sake with a strong, yet refreshing taste. It's so good! It's just like Niigata's sake.
I am not feeling very well today, neither physically nor mentally. But I worked hard, and I wanted to recharge my energy by having a drink outside to take care of my mental health. So I went to Fukuno Tori Iidabashi.
Today's sake was Yoshinogawa barrel sake. Oh well, not enough to fill the glass. I kind of like the smell of cedar in this sake.
Ganki Junmai Unfiltered Nama Sake. It is a well hidden sake among the best sake of Yamaguchi Prefecture, but it is also very good. The umami is very strong and spreads gradually.
Kudokibe Bakuren Ginjo Super Dry. As the name "super-harakuchi" suggests, it is a dry sake with a sake strength of +20.
However, it is not dry, and the taste is very crisp and clean. This is the good thing about Kudokyuu Ute.
I worked late today and told my live-in girlfriend that I would eat out. So we went to Fukuno no Tori Kojimachi for the first time in a very long time.
The first one was Toyo Bijin Jyundo Ittou Saito no Shizuku. Oh, that's rare, you don't see that very often.
It's the end of the month and I don't have a lot of sake, but that's no problem at all.
