I bought it hoping for the early reopening of the Sogen Sake Brewery in Suzu City.
Today was the first time I tried their mellow sake, which was labeled to be served hot, along with my favorite jun-en-mujikun. I was relieved to hear that all of Sogen's brewers are safe and sound, but I talked with the person at the store where I bought the sake, who told me that some of the breweries they sell in their stores are having difficulty reopening. I hope my purchase will be supportive.
I ordered a sake that was only on the menu at a tempura restaurant and it came out. 550 yen, so I didn't have high expectations, but the sweetness of the rice came first, and it was sharp and went well with the meal.
A reminder of what I bought.
I bought this bottle at Megada Sake Shop, which I visited during my trip to Utsunomiya to eat gyoza (Chinese dumplings). I had a hard time deciding which one to buy, and I was torn between it and Nanamizu from Utsunomiya, but I decided to go with this one.
Hello, Katsutama 😃.
Welcome to Utsunomiya 🤗Mekada-san! You can't go wrong with the wide variety of products 🤔It looks delicious from the outside, and you can't go wrong with the taste of this Ona-san ‼️ 😋.
Thank you Jay & Nobby for your comments. I was quite intrigued by Mekada-san, which I learned about by Googling on the same day. It was not a Tochigi sake, but they had Ryoseki-san's Hanamup, so I was sure this was the right place to go.
I went to buy another one, but then I thought, "Oh, hiyaoroshi! I thought to myself, "This year there is more Sogen, isn't there?
Immediately after opening the bottle, it had just the right amount of sweetness and moderate acidity. It has a grape-like taste. It has a grape-like taste.
Runner's only drink. I bought it just because of the name. I heard it is made with white malted rice that produces citric acid. I don't have a marathon to run in the near future, so I'll drink it after running regardless of the marathon. I might jog more at night.
It is 65%. I am looking forward to drinking it.
Immediately after opening the bottle, it has a low alcohol content and a citrusy citric acidity, which makes it less like a sake. It is an easy-drinking sake.
Without any prior information or preconceptions, I bought what I felt like calling at the liquor store.
Immediately after opening the bottle, it was smoky. Much drier. Mmmm... It is a very gutsy sake.
I walk to the Kamoshita Sake Shop to procure the pure drunkenness that led me to know Sogen.
Pale amber color. Sake's delicious taste. It is very impressive.
