Tenma Taishukai 2024 ④ The day before, I tasted Sakakamatsu from this brewery at a liquor store in Ikuno Ward. He asked me if I was going to the Tenma Sake Festival. I've been to this brewery and bought sake before. I think it was a brewery in Osaka, but closer to Wakayama and near a fishing port. I drank Junmai Ginjo Natsusei Nemuchi-san confirmed with the brewery that it was the same Sakakamatsu Natsusei that I drank the day before. Hmmm? When I drank it the day before, I had the impression that it was a summer sake with good flavor and drinkability, but something is different... Is it the temperature range? This is the last Maikaze series for this year. It's been quite a while, but we'll be having "Mt. Haruna" for the last time! When the bottle is opened and poured, it has a relaxing sweet aroma. It has a peachy aroma. It also has a slightly banana-like flavor. The palate is smooth, as is typical of Gunma sake, with a slight sweetness that is typical of "Maifu" and a nice astringent taste that plays an active role in the background! The astringency also gives it a mineral taste, which I personally feel is similar to the "Tenpyo Junmai" that I drank before👍. In the latter half, the astringency becomes the main taste, which reminds me of grapefruit. It melts away at the end, so it goes down smoothly! I've enjoyed many Maikaze series this year, including "Akagisan"✨I'm looking forward to next year!

Yahiko Sake Brewery in Yahiko Village, Niigata Prefecture. The main brand was "Echino Hakusetsu," but it appears that "Yahiko" will be the main brand from now on. This Junmai Ginjo is also made from Yamadanishiki produced in Yahiko Village, and is a good sake, not fruity, but calm and soft. Yahiko Village is where my mother is from, and I spent a lot of time there as a child when I was sent to my mother's home, so it is like a second home to me. Yahiko Shrine, the first shrine in Echigo, is located there.

(We just went there last October 😅) Geku shrine → Sarutahiko shrine → lunch at Ise Kaku Uchingu restaurant → around the inner shrine and back to the inn for my parents and to Ise Man for myself and my wife 😁.
