I purchased it at a liquor store (Tastovan Ofunato) on my trip. Hamamusume is a sake distributed only in Iwate Prefecture. I rarely buy it, so I went all out and got a bottle! LOL!
My impression was that it was less sweet and aromatic than AKABU, and had a calming taste. I would say it is more of a food sake than a stand-alone sake. Either way, a delicious sake. I am glad I had it!

I bought it at a liquor store (Ofunato) where I was traveling.
It is brewed exclusively for Tastovan, a sake specialty store in the prefecture, by the Shiwa Sake Brewery, which is famous for its "Hiroki" and "Shiwa.
The aroma is subdued and the taste is refreshing. It is a bottle of sake with a calmness that is not typical for a sake made from unpasteurized sake.

The regular Atago no Matsuri is designed as the "ultimate food sake," but this one is said to be quite different, and I was curious to buy it.

Oh, this is just out of the ordinary. The sake level is an astounding -44! The sweetness is tart. As the label design suggests, it has a strong lemon-like acidity.
I ended up drinking it as is, but it would also be delicious with soda or on the rocks.
