My daughters brought home the Tanabata decorations they made at preschool, so we decorated them in our rooms and looked at the night sky together before bedtime, but we were a little disappointed with the disappointing result 😞. Now that the kids are in bed, let's have a drink tonight too 🍶. Kikusui Junmai Ginjo ［I was wondering why I haven't seen any sake from Kikusui Brewery since "Saruko-no-Sen Alkuma Cup", but I guess they are a new brand that started in April this year. ［Glass.] Slightly melon-like fruity aroma, juicy sweetness first, then gently fades, with a sweet aftertaste. ［Mokkiri] A slightly sweet fruity aroma of rice, juicy and juicy, with a sweet taste that starts with umami and finishes with a gentle sweetness, followed by a pleasantly sweet aftertaste and a slight bitterness that lingers on the palate. This is my favorite type of sake. It has a juiciness similar to "Shinshu Kamerei" and "Yamazan" and a lingering aroma reminiscent of apples that you can feel as you get used to drinking it. I tried it with grilled ribs because Iida City, where the brewery is located, is famous for its yakiniku (grilled meat), and also with Fukui's sauced pork cutlet because it is said that the city is also famous for its sauced pork cutlet bowls 🤣.

This year, we will have a rush of summer field work from July 20 when the House of Councillors election is held, so it is essential to take countermeasures 🤔. Well, it was supposed to be a rest day, but after sweating so much during the day and taking a bath, I couldn't stop craving for beer 🍺, so I drank a bottle and couldn't stop. Yuki no Mayu Junmai Ginjo Nama Shu. This is the first time I've had this since the rebranding 🔰. Soft rice aroma, a tangy gas feeling on the tip of the tongue, soft fruity sweetness and acidity, mild sharpness, and a sweet aftertaste on the nose at the end. Serve lightly with chilled tofu, the creamy sweetness of the tofu and the fruity sweetness that is integrated with the sweetness of the tofu go well together 😋. Naeba, where the sake brewery is located, is the site of one of Japan's three major festivals, the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. I would love to go there someday, but I haven't had the chance, so this year I plan to attend the Rokuroshi Starry Music Festival, which will be held for the first time in my hometown🎶.

Shinshu Kamerei Tozawa Hitogokochi Junmai Ginjyo (Unfiltered Nama Sake) ［I got this by lottery from the Shinshu Secret Sake Hanpukai. It was a precious "Shinshu Kamerei Nama Sake" and I was looking for a chance to drink it, but I got another "Shinshu Kamerei Nama Sake" by lottery from the same hanpukai, so I'll open it now 🍾. ［Glass.] The aroma of rice is reminiscent of mellow apples, and the mouthfeel is full of gas, followed by a rich umami, sweetness, and a fresh sweet aftertaste. ［Mokkiri] Fresh rice aroma, a slight gassy feeling as you swallow, followed by a rich umami, sweetness, and bitterness, then a fresh finish with a lingering freshness and bitterness at the back of the throat. The rich umami and sweetness are typical of "Shinshu Kamerei", but it is so fresh, is this the performance of "Shinshu Kamerei no Nama-shu" 🤔. For my entrée, I had takeout [Akiyoshi's Yakitori] which I roasted in hot water and [Smoked Fukui Salmon] which I bought last time and am addicted to.

Wada Ryu Tosui Shinshu Secret Sake Hanpukai 2025 Gold Course ［A glass.] Slightly green apple-like? The aroma of rice is calm, the mouthfeel is smooth and tasty, and the taste is clean and soft, with a punchy alcohol taste and a strong bitterness at the end. ［Mokkiri.] Soft and fruity aroma of rice, a refreshingly cool umami taste, and a soft aftertaste. The fresh, soft, easy-drinking mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste are inversely proportional to the freshness and softness typical of Shinshu sake, and the rather punchy aftertaste is addictive. As we could not get Shinshu salmon, we had smoked Fukui salmon and cold shabu-shabu (cold shabu-shabu). The smoky flavor of the salmon and the cold shabu-shabu with two different sauces were both delicious and intoxicating 😋. All right! Now that I'm feeling better, I think I'll go for it this weekend, which is completely over my capacity and the spec limit of my equipment 🤣.

June 22nd was our second daughter's (our second child) birthday 🎂. My wife and children were back home from Saturday night to participate in a local sports festival held at my in-laws' place, so I spent the morning preparing for the evening party while getting some light exercise 🥳. Let's make a toast to the growth of these children and enjoy a glass of sake that is all about [2] 🍶. Sansho 2024 Yamadanishiki Ni-no-shuzake Nama-shu! First time drinking Kumamoto Sake and Sansho at home 🎉! Carefully cut the seal and lifted the lid to hear the sound of a pop 🍾. ［Gulping down the sake] The aroma of rice is calm and quiet, and the taste is refreshingly sweet and clean with a lingering aftertaste. ［Mokkiri.] A refreshing aroma of rice, a gaseous sensation that is pleasant to the taste buds, followed by a refreshing umami and a gentle sweetness that finishes with a clean, refreshing aftertaste. The refreshing, shwashy sensation is just as refreshing as the rumored "Koei Kiku Snow Crescent" and feels like Champagne 😋. If I could, I'd always have a bottle of this on hand, but I wonder when I'll be able to buy it next😅. I bought this one at Yoshidaya on a recent trip to Nagoya 💸. The entrée was Kibinago sashimi, chilled tofu, and the rest of the Hama Sushi Temaki set.

［I left Shima & Coffe & Sake and went to the venue for today's drink 🚶. When I entered the restaurant a little before the start time, the party had already started and I thought I was late😅. We found out that there was no sake at all last time, so we checked with the secretary and brought in 2 bottles of Yongo (four-pack) 🤣. First of all, since it was the opening of the party, we opened the first bottle of the shuwashu one and had a saké 🍶. Hana no Mai Abyss It has a slight sweetness with a hint of rice malt, a sparkling gas feeling at the mouth, and a dry taste with a clean umami flavor, which finishes with a refreshing aftertaste, almost like a rather dry champagne. Later I found out that it is brewed with Burgundy yeast, so the Champagne-like taste may be due to this 🤔. This is a bottle I bought in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where I went for GW! I poured it around to my other colleagues and it was gone in no time 🥰.

Zero after-party at Shima before the company's drinking party. After opening a bottle of "Hana-no-Ko", we next ordered a glass of "Hana-no-Ko", which we had decided to order the moment we saw the cellar. Sono Kangiku Pray for 2024 Junmai Daiginjo/Aiyama 40 Nakadori Unfiltered Unrefined Nama Sake. The aroma is mellow and sweet like sugar candy, the mouthfeel is full and soft, and the sweetness is typical of Kangiku, then it finishes with a gentle aftertaste. I am thankful to have found it here as I had lost the chance to drink it 🥰.

After overcoming an unexpected setback, we headed to Shima & Coffee & Sake 🚶. I looked in the cellar immediately after entering the store and chose this one for a cup of sake 🍶. Hana no Kaori Junmai Ginjo Kikka Sweet aroma like a white peach before it ripens, the mouthfeel is against the aroma, the flavor is mellow and delicious, the taste is gentle and sweet, and it finishes with a gorgeous fruity aftertaste, and the last thing that remains is the bitterness on the tongue and throat. For the entrée, we sampled a dish from Takashi's "Watercress soaked in watercress with fruit tomatoes and fresh ginger" that will be served tomorrow 🍴. The sweetness of the fruit tomatoes, the flavor of the fresh ginger, and finally the freshness of the watercress, which is refreshing without bitterness, seems to be a project for tomorrow's "June 6th.

I left home a little early for a company drinking party today and plunged into real-time drinking activities 🥰. In the morning, I worked up a sweat at the gym while doing household chores, and then went to Fukui Station near the venue early enough to stop for lunch to replenish my protein. I went to Matsumoto Shoten, a yakiniku restaurant in the Fukui Yatai Mura (Fukui Stall Village) that opened in conjunction with the opening of the Shinkansen (bullet train). After quenching my thirst with Akahoshi, I found a bottle at Mizumoto in Fukui Station on my way to Shima that I couldn't miss, so I stopped by 🤣. Kuroryu Hiiraju. The aroma is sweet and mellow like melon even from a distance due to the large mouth of the glass, and the bitter taste behind the clear umami and sweetness on the palate quickly fades to a sweet aroma on the nose and a firm bitter finish. I have not had this sake in 20 years 🤔. The 4th picture is a little yakiniku (grilled meat) at Matsumoto Shoten.

Hakuryu Echigo Breeding Junmai Daiginjo I finally got to drink "Hakuryu" from Niigata's Hakuryu Shuzo, not the usual "Hakuryu" from Yoshida Shuzo 🤣. ［The thin sipped sake.] The aroma of rice is clear, the taste is clear, and the mouthfeel is clear, with a slight sweetness and a pleasant lingering aftertaste. The clear umami and sharpness of the taste is one that fits the image of "light and dry" Niigata sake 😋. The entrée was a cheap piece of sliced pork from the supermarket 🍴. Before the Hakuryu, here's a TWO RABBIT pale ale I bought on a recent trip to Shiga 🍻. It has a full-bodied, yet refreshing hop bitterness and a fruity-sweet kick. It was easy to drink and perfect for a calm and relaxing experience 🍺. The fourth picture is of Ryukyu evening primrose that has started to bloom wildly on the premises.

This week, after picking up the kids from school, I took the expressway to Nagoya 🚙. I went to a ramen shop I wanted to eat at, and then went to a liquor store, in this order: ramen shop, Yoshidaya, Marunouchi Sake Shokuhin, and Sake Sento Horiichi ✨. Basically, I try to open the bottles in the order I buy them, but sometimes I thought it might be intoxicating to open them right after they go on sale, so I bought this one from Sake Sento Horikazu 🍶. Oku Trial Bewing No1 Nagisa no Yoneyaka ［Glass.] The aroma of mellow rice with the strength that is typical of "Oku", a clear and smooth sweet umami from the firm gas sensation on the tip of the tongue, a crisp and refreshing aftertaste, and a slight bitterness at the end that is typical of "Oku". ［Mokkiri.] Refreshing rice aroma reminiscent of citrus fruits, a refreshing sweet umami taste with a firm gassy sensation on the palate, followed by a refreshing finish with a clean aftertaste reminiscent of lemon, and a rather firm bitterness at the end. As the temperature rises, the sweetness plumps up and expands, leaving a refreshing, clean and pleasant aftertaste. The entrée was the same as the dish served in the Enshu Sea: Shizuoka bonito tataki and Fukui flying fish sashimi, both from the Enshu Sea. The combination of the two brought to mind images of the summer sea, and I was pleasantly intoxicated. ⛵️
