Last day of a three-day weekend 🔚. As usual, after putting the kids to bed as usual, let's have a drink, this time here! Abe Star Series ARCTURUS I got my long-sought "ARCTURUS" 🥰I thought I could complete the Star Series with this, but the new "DENEB" came out, so I couldn't 😅. ［Glass.] Rosé color that you wouldn't expect from a sake 😲Strawberry-like aroma that reminds you of sweet and sourness, from the gasiness of the mouthfeel to the clean and dry flavor and sharpness, to the quite distinctive yet indescribable aftertaste and lingering view through the nose. It is good with fried food, and seems to go well with full-bodied dishes, maybe even spiced curry 🤔. ［Thin sipped boar's mouth.] If there were strawberry juice, would this be the aroma? It has a sweet aroma with a refreshing sourness, a sweetness with a fruity taste, and a dry finish with a sweet and sour aftertaste and a mysterious aroma that escapes from the nose. Served with chicken tempura and grilled mackerel (frozen) from Hayashi Sake Shop. The star language of Arcturus means "star of joy" or "bright star", and recently the Andromeda class 9207 Arcturus appeared in the remake of Space Battleship Yamato, Yamato 3199 ✨.

［After the crab dinner, we went back to "Sakeba Maruko" for another round of drinks (4). Let's finish off the last drink by choosing an iron plate brand to finish off the drink nicely 🍶. Haneya Junmai Ginjo Tominokou (Nama Sake) The aroma was full and thin like a melon, the taste was clear and sweet, and the finish was pleasantly sweet. The most trippy feeling of the day, Haneya is the best! This is the second consecutive year that Haneya has won the highest award at Kura Master, a sake event held in France where French people select and rank sake wines. I was thinking that this excellent lingering taste must be appealing to French people who prefer wine 🤔. ［As we were leaving Maruko, I had a chance to chat with the waiter and asked him about the sake lineup, "The liquor store you deal with is 00 Sake Shop, right? I was told that the knowledge of a sake lover is amazing and that I should come back again 🤣. I caught an earlier train than the last train, so I walked about 3 kilometers from the nearest station to my house. Looking up at the sky in the darkness between the streets, I could clearly see the Winter Triangle including Orion 💫 Yeah, I was very satisfied 😆.

Hi, ma-ki-chan ☔. Actually, there are 3 liquor stores in Fukui that sell sake from outside of the prefecture, so I can almost always tell which one it is by the brand they specialize in 🤣. I can almost always tell which liquor store by the brands they specialize in 🤣, but that's also a result of my regular patrols ✨.

For my third drink, I ordered a "Kikumori" sake, which I thought I had had a "Taxi Driver" before but could not find a review of it 🍶. Kikumori Junmai Nigori Viktor Nage to Kneecap 🍶🍶. When I first started drinking sake from all over the country, I thought "what's this name? When I started drinking sake from all over the country, I thought, "What is this name? I heard it was a special combo of the brewer who used to be a martial arts fighter 🤔. The aroma of light lactic acid bacteria drink, the gas feeling on the tip of the tongue, the clean sweetness, the punchy umami, the sharpness, and the firm bitterness that remains in the end.... It has a beautiful umami taste that betrays the "fake" name, and its refreshing bitterness seems to go well with any meal.

Echizenmisaki Ume Yeast Junmai Genshu PRUNE The aroma is calm with a hint of plum flavor, the mouthfeel is slightly sweet with a beautiful umami flavor, and the finish is refreshing with a lingering sweet plum flavor and aftertaste. The sweetness and umami of "Echizen-misaki" matches the aroma and taste of ume, and is quite delicious. When I asked the waiter if I could take a picture of the cellar to confirm the details of the sake, he told me that I could take a picture and if there was anything I wanted to drink, he would be happy to bring it to me from the cellar.

After enjoying crab 🦀 for lunch, I headed home from my parents-in-law's house and returned to Fukui Station 🚃. I took the Echizen Railway and took a bath at a bathing facility. After cleaning myself up, I went to the Shinsakae area in front of Fukui Station, which has recently undergone remarkable redevelopment 🚶. There, I took a peek at Maruko, a bar that has quickly become a popular restaurant since it opened this year, and saw that there was one seat available at the counter, so I entered the bar. I checked the menu and found that they had a brand of sake from Hiroshima, which is only one store in the prefecture that carries it, so I decided to start with that first 🍶. Karasuwa SORA-iro no Kage Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Nama-Ginjo A new brand by the 7th generation who took over the Asahiho Shuzo brewery, which brews "Asahiho" in Hiroshima. The word "Urin" is said to refer to the sun, and it is said to express the wish that people will drink this sake in the sun. ［The name "Sake-no-wa" has not been registered yet, so please register as a new user. It has a fruity aroma like plums, a clean and refreshing flavor, and a gentle and soft aftertaste. Easy to drink with low alcohol content, but with a robust flavor. It goes well with Tempura of swordfish.

［Crab Party with my in-laws at Kani-no-Bo This is the third drink of the three local sake tasting contest! Tsuneyama Junmai Dry Chokaguchi A full aroma, a beautiful umami that flows smoothly through the mouth, and a clean crisp taste with a lingering finish. I thought this was the best fit with the first one [seikogani] and all three types of sake, so I ordered a Sandesi bottle and sipped it with my father-in-law and brother-in-law 🥰. My brother-in-law, who is not a big sake drinker, especially raved about how good it was ✨. My father-in-law also enjoyed the sake in his shell! I was very satisfied 🍶. After this, my wife decided to go shopping with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, so we took the kids and my nephew back to my parents-in-law's house on the regional train, played with the kids for a while, and then headed home because I had to work the next day 🚃. Well, I had to change trains in Fukui, so I wasn't going straight home 🤣.

［Crab Party with my in-laws at Kani-no-Bo Here is the second drink of the three local sake tasting contest! Bon Tokishirazu Slightly smoky aroma, slightly smoky sweetness on the palate with a lingering smoky finish. There is something strange about it, maybe it's twisted? I started to wonder about that, so I quickly drank it up 😅. When I was over 20 years old, the first sake I ordered at an izakaya was this "Bon Tokishirazu" or "Kuroryu Itchorai" 🥰. When one of my friends drank too much and got sick, his famous line "Just kill me! It's still talked about among my friends.

It was a three-day weekend, but I only had Saturday off ✨. My father-in-law had invited me to go with him to eat crab 🦀 every year, so I went with my brother-in-law and his family who came back home from Shizuoka 🙇. Last year I was unable to attend due to my own work, so I'm grateful that they were able to accommodate my schedule this year ✨. From the first appetizer [sashimi], [seiko crab], [grilled crab], [crab sashimi], and lastly [boiled crab] 🦀, all with a yellow tag to symbolize [Echizen crab]. 🏷️ Then let's start drinking from noon 🍶. The restaurant had a 3 types of locally brewed sake to compare, so we ordered this one! First, let's start with the sake cup on the right! Kuzuryu Itsuhin Clear aroma, clear taste, and a refreshing aftertaste. A stable marriage of Fukui sake and Echizen crab.

Additional time after the SENKYO✕UA limited edition sake party at shima&sake&coffee (3) Let's try a different version of this sake 🍶. Sotogahama Junmai Ginjo Haikara The same mellow melon-like aroma, melon-like sweetness and umami, mellow lingering taste and slight bitterness. Similar flavor profile, but if you compare Monochrome and Haikara, Haikara has slightly stronger acidity and bitterness 🤔. And the fourth one I was told to drink because it's interesting. I didn't know about this one, but it is a whiskey produced by Nishi Shuzo, which brews Tenpyo and Tominohozan shochu. I had it on the rocks, but it's quite light in body, so I think it would be drunk with a highball! ［Nishi Shuzo is doing a lot of different things. ✨️ This concludes my post on the shima & sake & coffee event 🔚. The number of "Sentori" posts went up at once 🤣.

Additional time after the SENKYO✕UA limited edition sake party at shima&sake&coffee (2) After the shocking "Sentori Snowman 2025" was opened, the customer next to me and I ordered and compared the sake we were really interested in, which had been sitting in the cellar before the event 🥰. Sotogahama Junmai Ginjo Monochrome. The aroma was like a mellow melon, the taste was sweet and umami, and the finish was mellow and lingering. I looked at the back of the bottle and saw that this is from the Tasake brewery 😲 I didn't know that. ✨️

Additional time after the SENKYO✕UA limited edition sake party at shima&sake&coffee (1) After all the drinks had been consumed, one of the other participants brought this year's version of the "Snowman" and we all enjoyed it together 🥰. However, there was an incident here: ❕️ The first photo shows the gas escaping without opening the bottle because it was laid on its side while being brought to us, and its capacity was reduced to one third as shown in the first photo. But everyone was curious about the taste even in this state, so we had some 🤣. Sentori Snowball 2025 (out of gas) Rich aroma, taste of lactobacillus drink and bitter aftertaste. In a word, very rich 😋. I'm sure there are people who would like this but it's a very high class drink. No - but is it so much less 🤔?

SENKYO✕UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee The last one is here 🍶 after the "Edo-togari" (Edo trip). SENKOKU UA 1st 2024 AKA AKA, NAMAHASHIZUKURI". It has a clear acidic aroma, a rich umami and acidity, and a refreshing aftertaste. Personally, I think I like it better than "Ao" before "Edogari" 🤔. Last but not least, the blue cheese pasta with pear and prosciutto ham. The pasta is quite thin like somen noodles, and the salty flavor of the prosciutto and blue cheese is delicious 😋. That's the end of the review in a nutshell, but we're back to the aditional time section 🤣.

SENKYO O✕ UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee (8) The eighth and ninth drinks were a rare comparison of the two sakes before and after SENKYO's return to the Edo period. SENKOKU UA 1st 2024 Ao Hayasozo Hashizukuri The aroma is soft and mild with a sourness that is typical of Sengoku, and the mouthfeel is moist with sweetness and umami, followed by a crisp acidity and a clean aftertaste. Sengoku UA 1st 2025ver It has a fresh acidic aroma, a gassy mouthfeel, a refreshing sourness similar to the woody flavor of "Shinmasa", and a sweetness that finishes with a sour bitterness. Since I drank it right after the 2023ver, I got the impression that it was quite lively and fresh 😋. Pairing: Smoked salmon with orange A dish that matches the delicious flavor of smoked salmon with the acidity of citrus fruits. ✨️

SENKYO O✕ UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee (6) This is a sake party at shima&sake&coffee, where four different types of "UA 1st" sake are compared according to their age. SENKOKU UA 1st 2023ver The aroma is a little beetle-like, the mouthfeel is gassy, the acidity is clean, the flavor is mild and lingering, and the finish is refreshingly acidic, just like Sentori. It is not twisted even though it has been aged for almost 2 years 🤔.

SENKYO✕UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee (5) The fifth sake was a nearly one year old sake! Sentori Yukidaruma. The aroma is a bit briny, the mouthfeel is gassy, the taste is refreshingly sour, and it finishes with the lingering bitterness of a calorie-free lactobacillus drink. The gaseous and gaseous sensation is still there after a year 🥰. This is one that leads to a certain shocking development later on 🤣.

SENKYO✕UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee (4) Here is the fourth sake of the mid-part of the event! Sentori Akatombo The aroma is tinged with a sourness that is typical of Sentori, and the mouthfeel is moist and umami, with a sharp acidity that is typical of Sentori. As the temperature rises, it has a slightly fannish sweetness. Pairing: Apples and prosciutto cream cheese. The chopped prosciutto ham is also inside the olives, which makes this a difficult dish to pair with. When paired with "Akatombo", the sweetness of the apple and the flavor of the wooden vat combine to create a pleasant acidity.

SENKYO✕UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee (3) Still the third drink of the first half of the event Sentori Urasenkohanabi The first half of the glass has a lactic acid aroma that seems to be dissolving, and the first mouthful has a mild sweetness that fades out to a slightly narrower acidity with a firm sweet aftertaste. The balance is quite pleasing when drunk on its own, and personally, it is my favorite of all the sake I drank that day. But I wonder if the "gorgeousness" comes out more than the "fragility" and "wabi" that "sparkler" has 🤔.

SENKYO O✕ UA Limited Sake Party at shima&sake&coffee (2) We had so much fun that we gave up posting in real time 🤣. The order of the sake served at the event was as shown in the second page of the lineup chart. The order of the second sake was as follows. Senkou - Senkohana (sparkling firework) The aroma is like a soda-laced rumney or a pineapple, and the mouthfeel has a slight gaseous feeling. It is more like a sparkler flickering faintly in your hand than a gorgeous fireworks display in the summer night sky. I feel somewhat wistful 🤔 Pairing: Blue Cheese Bucket with Pear and Apple When eaten by itself, the blue cheese bucket has the saltiness and flavor of blue cheese, but when eaten with pears and apples, the blue cheese loses its peculiarity and the fruity flavor increases, giving it a more dessert-like feel 😋.

Booze terrorism continues 🥰. ［We moved on from Fukui Yatai Mura to shima&sake&coffee🚶. This time, the master, shima-san, released all the UA collaboration of "Senkou" that he had in stock 😲. We started off with this one, which had been laid up for almost a year 🍶. SENKOU UA Snake Aroma of mellow lactic acid bacteria, a feeling of gaseous gas, sweetness and umami, and a mild aftertaste. In a sense, it has a strong flavor that is not like SENKYO, and is suitable for the power word "Kijoshu no nigori" (nigorizake). The pairing of persimmon and bacon with cream cheese was served. The saltiness and umami of the bacon, the sweetness of the persimmon, and the mildness of the cream cheese matched the taste of "SENKYO" perfectly.
