This is my first New Year's Day back in my hometown Osaka. This year, my parents invited us to their department store Osechi. My sister and her husband brought me a bottle of Okutanba as a celebratory sake. You can feel the sweetness of the rice in the beginning, but it changes to a dry taste in the middle to the end. It is a perfect match for the richly flavored Osechi and fatty yellowtail sashimi. It is said that the sake degree is +5 (dry), but I feel that it is +2~3 (slightly dry?). I guess. However, I like it this much better now. Other doburoku seems to take a little more getting used to. The rice mash is not that strong and has a mouthfeel similar to muddy sake. If I am wrong, it may even be easier to drink than the more habitual muddy sake... lol. Combined with the PET bottle container, it felt like Koiwai apple juice. Are my nose and tongue going crazy?
