Drinking continues at Don Chaya 🕺. We emptied the weird "Haneya", followed by another round 🍶. We chose our first brand that we could see in the cellar✨ First "Kame no Ou Junmai Ginjo Shiboritate" 🎉. Not much in the way of aroma, but a clean sweetness on the palate, with a pleasantly sharp and sweet [Kame-no-o] lingering finish! I found out later that they revived Kame-no-o and used this episode as a model for Natsuko's Sake, so in a sense, they are the pioneer of Kame-no-o 😁.

I had to drink this one in a rush so we could check out of our hotel and continue our trip. The sake was sweet and sour with hints of melon. Thank you Kyoto for a wonderful time!

I jumped at the chance to buy this sake because it had a sticker saying that it had won the highest gold medal for sake in a wine glass. It was slightly sweet and fragrant, but also had the feeling of drinking sake, and I thought it would go well with Western food.

Overall, it is refreshing and easy to drink. It is good for accompanying a meal, but it may be too smooth as a stand-alone sake. Kinmyo Junmai Sake 60% 15-16% 720ml Kinmyo by Negami Shuzo is my new favorite sake. The acidity is up from last year. The characteristic custardiness is almost gone, and a green apple-like fruitiness has been added instead. It also has a spiciness to it. It is a different taste from last year. This is the last Maikaze series for this year. It's been quite a while, but we'll be having "Mt. Haruna" for the last time! When the bottle is opened and poured, it has a relaxing sweet aroma. It has a peachy aroma. It also has a slightly banana-like flavor. The palate is smooth, as is typical of Gunma sake, with a slight sweetness that is typical of "Maifu" and a nice astringent taste that plays an active role in the background! The astringency also gives it a mineral taste, which I personally feel is similar to the "Tenpyo Junmai" that I drank before👍. In the latter half, the astringency becomes the main taste, which reminds me of grapefruit. It melts away at the end, so it goes down smoothly! I've enjoyed many Maikaze series this year, including "Akagisan"✨I'm looking forward to next year!
