Purchased at a nearby Japanese supermarket for about $35. Pale lemon in color. Sweet and fresh aroma like white grapes and ripe apples. The first impression is that it is thick and sweet. The second sip is a little less sweet and a little more acidic, with a hint of bitterness afterwards. It is neither too light nor too heavy, but just right.

Purchased at Aeon Tokoname, about 1200 yen. The color is a faint lemon. The aroma is a little hard to detect because it is not served in the usual sake cup, but it seems to be rather sake-like with a slight sourness. The taste is very drinkable. I prefer another Tengu Mai.

Purchased in Japan. The color is light lemon. The color is darker than that of the untouched original. The aroma is slightly aromatic, like caramel or fu confectionery. Compared to the juicy untouched sake, this one is less flamboyant. The sweetness and bitterness that gradually sinks in are different from those of tsukezumi sake. A sake to drink slowly.

Purchased in Japan. Almost transparent in color, with a hint of lemon. The aroma reminds me of fresh sweetness like muscat. The taste is refreshingly sweet at first, but there is also a strong bitterness. The acidity is weak. The wine is not too strong, but it is very drinkable. I tasted it again after keeping it in the fridge for a few weeks. The bitterness that I felt in the beginning has settled down and become a little rounder. It is again delicious.

Purchased in Japan. Almost transparent in color. Nostalgic aroma like a cool stone basement. Aromas of salt malt and white grapes are also present. At first, it has an acidity similar to that of white wine. The taste is quite white wine-like, more lactic than fruity. The taste was quite different from what I had imagined from the reviews. It is dry and easy to pair with food. I'll let it sit for a while and see how the taste changes.

Purchased in Japan. The color is beautiful white, like powder snow. The aroma is fresh like a sea breeze and Japanese pear. It also has a herbal feel, which is different from the sake I have tasted in the past. In the mouth, there is more acidity and a slight bubbling sensation than sweetness. After that, there is a juicy sweetness. The acidity and light bitterness that can be felt through to the aftertaste are reminiscent of white wine, and the taste is light and refreshing. A very interesting sake that can be paired with both Japanese and Western cuisine. The sweetness can be felt a little after opening the bottle. The sweetness is not too heavy.

First Sentori. Purchased in Japan. The color is almost colorless and transparent. Fruity and fresh apple and pear aromas. It also has a slight minty coolness to it. Compared to the impression from the aroma, the strong candy-like sweetness in the first sip is surprising. It is not at all cloying or clingy. As you continue drinking, the sweet and sour taste is indeed what you hear about. After the sweetness runs through, there is a bitter taste. It is a delicious sake that is very drinkable.

Purchased at Mitsuwa Marketplace in Chicago. The color is as clear as possible. The aroma is not only sweet, but also slightly acidic, reminiscent of green apple and fruit vinegar. The first sip has a thick, honey-like sweetness, but the sourness and bitterness follow in a well-balanced manner from the mid-palate. The bitter aftertaste remains, but it is not unpleasant.
