Posting No. 422 I bought this sake after the clerk recommended it to me, saying that while most Sogen is unfiltered and raw, this sake is charcoal filtered and rare. When I drank it, it had a slightly sweet taste. Posting No. 413 The price was surprisingly 1,210 yen for a four-pack of junmai ginjo. When I asked the waitress why, she said it was because it was "aggressive" and therefore had a miscellaneous taste. When I drank it, it had the juiciness typical of nama-zake. It has a slight sweetness, but more than that, the umami flavor is very apparent. I think this is because it is an aggressive sake. The umami flavor lingers in the aftertaste. It is a light sake and does not leave much of a lingering aftertaste. Perhaps because the alcohol content is low at 11%, the body is weak and the sake lacks punch.
