First time in Tottori. An acquaintance recommended it to me and I bought it at a nearby department store....
As it turns out, it was my least favorite type 😭.
It was thick like Shaoxing wine, yet not too sweet, no sharpness. The smell is like shiitake mushrooms. More like "that smell" I've smelled many times, mainly in India. You know, the smell of underground wells and cave temples....
This brewery seems to make a sake that is suitable for heating up, and perhaps it was my fault for drinking such a thing at room temperature. I am sure it would taste wonderful if it were heated up. But we don't have a microwave oven.
I guess I didn't have much luck with this brand. I feel bad for the acquaintance who recommended it to me.
The palate is sweet like vanilla syrup. It goes down your throat with the same thickness as it is. But it is delicious because it does not have the clinginess of Shaoxing wine.
I was attracted to the label because of its eye-catching appearance!
It's water. It goes in easily and has a refreshing aftertaste. It's dangerous to drink it carelessly. I'm glad I chose to drink it in one cup.
This may be my favorite. It is sweet on the palate with a light, refreshing finish that is quick and easy to drink! The aftertaste is like water, not heavy.
First time in Nagasaki! But I drank Hizenhama in Saga.
Since we are from the same old country, I thought I might have a chance to drink Nagasaki sake in Saga, but I hit the jackpot. The Nagasaki brewery has taken over the sake brewed at the brewery originally located in Hizenhama and is now brewing it.
It has a gentle flavor typical of junmai sake. It has a gentle Junmai sake-like flavor and a fruity taste.
