This is Drunken Whale Special Junmai Sake sold in supermarkets. I think it is the best sake for a meal. I paired it with some fatty amberjack sashimi, and it went well with it because the dry taste washed away the fat.

It was pure rice wine made from edible rice, not sake rice. I bought it at my local supermarket. It seems to have won a gold medal at the National Kanzake Contest 2020 in the value-priced lukewarmed category. It costs just under 900 yen for a four-pack. I had it cold, and it was light on the palate, with a medium to slightly dry taste. When I had it warmed up... It's just as smooth as the chilled version. We served it with pickled chayote.

I thought KONISHI was a Belgian beer importer, but it started out as a Japanese sake. It has a little sweetness, but it has a strong taste. It seems to be able to stand up to dishes with strong flavors. I think I prefer Kita Akita in the Cospa series.
