Happy New Year! After making Zoni, I finally had my first drink. I started the year with Kaneizumi, which I received from a friend the day before yesterday. The aroma is good, but the taste is sweet and fruity at first, followed by a refreshing acidity that lingers in the mouth, and finally the taste of rice lingers. The sweet and fruity taste fills the mouth at first. According to my friend, he has been drinking Kaneizumi since the old days when it was made by Horimoto Shuzo. and then it was taken over by Aihara Shuzo of Amego no Tsuki with the toji-san. After the brewery went out of business and was succeeded by Aihara Brewery It is said to be his favorite sake even after he took over the brewery with the master brewer. At the tasting, I tasted a ripe LaFrance.... I was attracted by the words "Ripe LaFrance" and tasted it... I was scared 😳. This is really LaFrance 🍐! The way the aftertaste pulls away from the 🍐 is fantastic👍. Originally made by another brewery, but when they quit, Aihara Brewery took over the brewery. I heard it used to reign in the East and West with Jyushiyo (never had it...) 🤔. I don't have any experience so I can't compare, but this one is different for me personally!

On Sunday, I visited the Taste of Morita Co. This is the family brewery of Akio Morita, the founder of Sony. I was attracted by the Aji no Yakata limited edition and bought a bottle. It tasted a little sweeter than I expected and was easier to drink than I expected. 1,650 yen

A souvenir from a business trip to Niigata. My colleague introduced me to Miyakoya and I bought it. It was a very tasty sake with the beautiful lightness and umami of Niigata. The bonito was also very nice and fatty, so it made for a good dinner.

I bought it at a sake shop in Kintetsu Department Store. I can't read "mother-of-pearl" 🤣I heard it is read as "Uzume", but if you type "den" for mother-of-pearl in your phone, it will come up 😁. If I lived a normal life, I would never use this kanji 😅. I got the impression it's a pineapple with a bit of bitterness 🍍. It was sweeter when I tasted it, so maybe it's sweeter after some time, but it's 500ml and I can't wait that long 🤣. Maybe the aroma is a bit peculiar.

Purchased at Kintetsu Department Store's Sake Tour. The label is a sheep kept at the brewery. It has a slight sweetness, and is full, rich, and powerful. It has a strong richness. Rice used is something from Mie Prefecture Aged for 4 years, pale amber in color. Smoky and graininess with the color as it is. The sweetness is elegant, and the spiciness in the aftertaste has an impact on the throat and nose. It is a little peculiar, but I personally like it! I got "Uonuma de sakou" as a souvenir....sold only in Minamiuonuma, the concept is good ⭕️...I couldn't find a good marriage...but I'm sipping it with yellowtail sashimi and okonomiyaki...Niigata sake 🍶 traditional light dry taste.... ...I've had it a few times...it's a good ⭕️ as a food sake 🍶! @Koriyama Iando After having a drink in Omiya, I got tired of going back to Tokyo, so I jumped on the 🚄 and went to Koriyama. I decided to have a quick bite in front of the station, but it was crowded everywhere, so I went to a new restaurant that I found. They have a good selection of local sake, and I chose "Yuri", which I had never had before, and it is from the same brewery as Aizu Nakasho! I heard that this sake is brewed by a mother and daughter who are both sake brewing technicians! It has a soft sweetness at first, but eventually it becomes slightly dry and pleasant to drink. It is very easy to drink, which is impressive and delicious.

Junmai Daiginjo-shu bought at Chapinstow, London. It is a raw sake. It has a dry taste. Unpatseurised sake. Unpatseurised sake. Dry taste. Weak smell and aroma, you can feel the taste if alcohol. 3.5/5 ✖️ don't buy again: it's a welcome change from the softer Junmai Daiginjo we usually have, but it isn't my favourite.
