The 10th cup. The last one was a lukewarm cup of Shinigami. It's been a while since I've had anything but cold sake lately as the weather has warmed up. It tasted gentle and was just the perfect drink to end the day.

It is still January and the New Year, but the sake has an unlucky name. There is no information about it except that it is a junmai sake.
First, it was served at room temperature.
As expected, there is an aroma of aging, but it does not have a strong medicinal smell.
In the mouth, it has an umami of rice (not too strong), followed by a sweetness like mirin (sweet sake), and then a slightly bitter taste that finishes with a sharp taste.
When heated, the higher the temperature, the more the acidity takes over. 40℃ is good for the sweetness, while at 50℃, the bitterness and acidity seem to hide the sweetness.
It is sweet, relatively easy to drink, and a well-made aged sake. It can be served at room temperature.
It would be nice if it were more easily available.

Reaper who hasn't had a drink in quite a while. The front one. I'm going to drink the back side later.
It is said that this sake was made with the exact opposite concept at the time of the "light and dry" boom.
The name was also chosen because it is the opposite of something to be celebrated.
It is already well-known, so there is not much to say about it, but this mellow and delicious sake is rare even in this day and age.
It tastes like sweet brandy, and a glass of wine goes perfectly with it.
The name has a strong impact, but the sake is as unique as its name.

I was wondering what the name of this sake was 😅but a sake store owner who knows the brand well told me that it is not the so-called "ominous god of death" but "Shinigami" from a popular rakugo storytelling performance. The ending may differ depending on the performer, but it doesn't seem to be the disturbing sake I thought it was. The four-pack is "Ura Shinigami" and the one-pack is "Shinigami. The "Shinigami" is a single-bottle because it is said to be liked or disliked by different people, while the "Ura-Shinigami" is easier to drink than the "Shinigami. I'm confused with the image.
As a result, "Shinshin" reminded me of Kikuhime, with a sense of maturity and a strong mirin (sweet sake) flavor. But it has a nice sharpness. It is certainly a sake for different tastes. And "Ura Shinigami" has a sweet flavor and sharpness that is not like a daiginjo, in a good sense. The unique alcohol taste was felt at room temperature, but it was taken as a characteristic of the naming, and it became a food sake. It goes well with a meal with a strong flavor.
I thought Shimane sake would be more like Tenjyu or Kirei-me, but I had a shallow image 😆.
