On the way back from fishing for sweetfish in Yamanashi. I bought some sake at the supermarket where I always stop by.
I chose this sake from the summer sake corner.
It was served cold and crisp.

A very late update, a record of the Bon Festival.
Purchased at the local sake corner of the supermarket near my parents' house.
I already forgot the details of the taste, but Kyokko is one of my favorite sake.
I haven't been drinking much fresh-stored sake lately. I think I see less and less Namacho itself.
It is what I call an "easy-drinking" sake.
Personally, I like it a little darker.
Nevertheless, 3/5 stars.
Zanso Hourai is another classic.
It has a slight sourness and is crisp and refreshing even when drunk with fried food. I think I like it better a week after the bottle is opened because it has a deeper flavor.
The last bottle of the Hourai set.
It has been a long time since I drank a full-bodied regular sake.
As expected, it is a bit alcoholic, but it is good. Better heated. 3/5 stars.
It has a little bit of a peculiar taste, but not enough to give it a 2 star rating.
Continuation of the Hourai set. A thick nigori sake.
Using nigori? Thank you message on the back of the label.
It's quite a nice presentation.
3/5 stars.
It's been a long time since I uploaded anything. I've accumulated a lot.
A set of Hourai. This is a standard sake, but it was quite good.
The quality of the recent regular sake is very high!
3/5 stars.

Continuation of Hourai from Watanabe Sake Brewery.
Junmai sake this time. The taste was firm, with a touch of astringency and umami when crushed on the tongue. Not the sharp type, but the type that lingers for a long time.
3/5 stars.

It's Father's Day and the doggies and kitten gave me a set of Watanabe Sake Brewery.
First, a standard Junmai Ginjo.
It has a robust flavor typical of Hida Hourai. It has a moderate astringency and is perfect for grilled sweetfish.
The bottle is 300ml, so you can finish it in a day. It was delicious.
3/5 stars.

I've been wanting to drink this sake for a long time. I thought it was hard to find it, but I found it at a liquor store near my parents' house where I've been back home for a while. This is another sake shop that makes you want to live there, and they have various grades of sake. I chose the base grade Junmai sake.
I had it after I had finished the Kuo sake. I don't think it was a draft sake, but it had a fizziness to it. It was a bit dry after the darker Kuo, but it had enough flavor to be good. It had a nice sharpness and went well with grilled sweetfish, koshibara tempura, and chicken tempura.
It was delicious! 4/5 stars.

Business trip to Utsunomiya. Purchased sake at a liquor store less than a 10-minute walk from the station.
The selection of local Tochigi sake and sake from all over the country makes me want to live here.
I had a hard time deciding which one to buy, as they had Senkou Kabutomushi, but I chose Kuho, which is not widely available in Japan.
All of the local Ootawara amataka are good, but they are rather refreshing.
However, Kuo has a more robust flavor, which I like even more. It has a great flavor that spreads in the mouth. The sharpness is so good that you can't help but drink too much despite the high alcohol content.
It is delicious. 4/5 stars.

Purchased at a supermarket on the way back from ayu fishing.
I was torn between Junmai Daiginjo and Junmai Ginjo. The difference is 300 yen for a four-pack. I would have gone for the daiginjo, but I wanted to drink it as a food sake, so I went for the junmai ginjo.
The initial aroma is sweet with a hint of chocolate.
In the mouth, there is an acidity and astringency that can be felt on the sides of the cheeks. The umami flavor comes through and goes well with both grilled and fried ayu fish.
Very tasty. 4/5 stars.

This sake was bought by my mother-in-law, not on a business trip to Utsunomiya.
It is premium even though it is a regular sake. The label doesn't look like a regular sake either.
I looked it up and found that the ingredients are not as good as those for Tokutei Meishu, but it seems to be a sake that has been carefully nurtured.
It is a new approach to regular sake, and I guess you could call it a new genre.
The sake was first served chilled, but it did not have the sting of alcohol, and you would not notice it even if it were called junmai sake or brewed sake. It has a full-bodied flavor and is no longer a regular sake. There is a slight tingle at the end, but maybe that's because I'm drinking it as a regular sake.
It's good warmed up, too. I can enjoy the flavor more this way.
I feel like I've been beaten to the punch. I'm not sitting on my laurels when it comes to Tokutei Meishu!
I gave it 4/5 stars.

Tomikawa Sake Brewery's Tomikawa is more famous these days for its Chu-Ai sake.
As the label says, simple. It is delicious.
The flavor and aroma are not too assertive, but well balanced, so you will never get tired of drinking it.
It is not often seen in Tochigi Prefecture, but on a recent business trip to Utsunomiya, I found it at the back of a supermarket next to the station! They also had sake from a famous Tochigi sake brewery, but I didn't hesitate, or rather, after a little hesitation, I bought this one.
It was the right choice no matter which one I bought, but I think this was the best choice this time.
3/5 stars.

I went to Utsunomiya on an overnight business trip after a long time. I arrived in Utsunomiya after 8:00 p.m., having stayed the night before after working in Tokyo. Due to the Corona, the stores in the station building closed early, so I bought a 300ml bottle at a souvenir shop and drank it at the hotel.
For snacks, I took out Utsunomiya's specialties, kabutoage (fried fish cake) and motsu-ni (stewed fish), from an izakaya (Japanese-style bar) next to the hotel. The rest were salad rolls from a convenience store.
The sake was lightly cloudy but not too sweet and crisp. It is a summer sake, and I think it is best served chilled.
3/5 stars.

Purchased on the way back from picking wild vegetables.
Koshiori, Harigiri, Mitsuba, and asparagus tempura go well with the acidity from the sake yeast.
Last year's Shoryu Hourai was aged for one year, but this time it was R3BY.
The aroma is a little higher and it is a bit like a sake made from a traditional sake brewer's yeast.
I was thinking of trying it heated, but it was gone before I knew it...
3/5 stars.

I got this on my way home from a visit to my dog friend's printer that was acting up.
I was relieved to hear that the printer was fine.
First, at room temperature.
It is a junmai type, but has a rich aroma. Banana and rice aroma.
I've been drinking a lot of hard sake lately, so it was quite soft.
When heated up, the aroma was surprisingly subdued. Slightly astringent and acidic.
3/5 stars.

The first Tenbi.
The menu included tempura of freshly harvested wild vegetables (cod sprouts, Japanese parsley, mitsuba, and momiji gasa) and shrimp, boiled parsley, boiled mitsuba, kogomi with sesame dressing, kogomi with soybean flour dressing, fresh yuba, and horse sashimi.
It was too much, but I walked 14,000 steps in the mountains, so it was OK.
The top aroma is mild. In the mouth, sourness and umami spread, and there is a slight bitterness in the back of the throat. The hint of aroma is a little sour like an amino acid beverage.
I can see why it is popular.
3/5 stars. close to 4, but maybe just a little bit in the wrong direction.
#Nagano #Okaya #Sake
Like the previous Maihime, this sake is from Nagano. And this one is also dry.
It has an even harder mouthfeel. I used the word "crisp" for Maihime, but this one is more crisp and light.
It is a Nagano sake, and can be drunk like a dry beer.
Personally, I would like a little more viscosity.
