I opened a bottle of a souvenir I bought in Hawaii. This one is a so-called craft saké of lilikoi (passion fruit). I had heard that they had built a brewery relatively close to Waikiki and wanted to go there, but unfortunately, the brewery has moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2022, leaving only the store. The aroma was sour and koji-like, with a hint of Japanese sake, and a soft tropical breeze! It is not as fruity as one might imagine. When you taste it, it has a light, acidic flavor, but it is not a citrusy, sour sake either. It has a refreshing sweetness and acidity with a clean aftertaste, but it also has more rice than expected, making it more like a sake. It has a tropical flavor, but I thought it would be more like a juice. It goes well with vinegar-based foods such as salads. The volume is blinding, but the end of the bottle has more lilikoi than the beginning. The flavor is refreshingly tropical and astringent when you bite into the seeds, and the sake flavor is light. I enjoyed it with thoughts such as, "I want to go back soon. By the way, the store that handles Junmai Ginjo...which part of Junmai is Junmai? I thought, "What part of Junmai is Junmai? If I have a chance, I would like to try the Junmai one.

Since the system of multiple lines was not good for time performance, bouken and I changed to a sharing strategy. They had passion fruit, Kona coffee, and Junmai Daiginjo. ISLANDER SAKE Junmai Daiginjo Unfiltered Nama-Genshu. It was a proper sake with a gentle acidity and a rather refreshing taste. It is a loose sake that is a little lacking in my opinion. The price is expensive, so I don't think I will buy it. ISLANDER SAKE Kona Coffee The color is a little brownish and it smells like coffee. I always drink my coffee black, so I thought it was very light coffee. I don't think I'll buy this one either. Here, I ran into the owner and manager of "Sake Bar Shinshiro," which I had visited with bouken-san before.

At Ya-Ya in Kobe. This is the first time to drink Neko Masamune since it was transferred from the defunct Omi Sake Brewery to Maihime🐱. It has a clear and refreshing taste, but with the umami and acidity typical of junmai sake. ◉Hokkoku Kaido Junmai Ginjo A very clear and refreshing sake with a slight umami taste and a slightly pungent finish. Hokkoku Kaido Junmai Daiginjo Sho A high quality sake. The mouthfeel is clear and fruity with a good acidity. This is delicious. Overall, the impression was a bit refreshing. Only one sake brewed last year was made by Touji Nakamura, who came from Takeuchi Shuzo. The sake he brought this time was the same one, and he said he couldn't drink it anymore. And this is where time ran out. It took us about 1 hour and 45 minutes to go around the venue. On the way back, we took the train to visit a liquor store in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. The owner of the liquor store was just visiting the same event, so we spent about an hour talking with the chatty owner, and then we safely returned home.

Sake from a brewery famous for Ryujinmaru. It has been a very long time since Kirakuri. After Shikishima, tkmts-san was drinking Ryujinmaru, and I wanted to try something of Takagaki-san's sake, so I chose Kirakuri. This time it was an unfiltered raw Nakadori. It has a caramelized taste with sweetness and a sense of maturity. It's just a coincidence that there is a succession of sakes with a sense of maturity, such as Washin, Shikishima, and Kirakuri.
