Shiga sake festival in Otsu 2025⑳ Yamaji Sake Brewery and Kitakuni Kaido booth. We slipped in at the last minute to listen to the toji-san who was a bit curious about us. ◉Hokkoku Kaido Junmai Sake The rice used for this sake is Tamakae. It has a clear and refreshing taste, but with the umami and acidity typical of junmai sake. ◉Hokkoku Kaido Junmai Ginjo A very clear and refreshing sake with a slight umami taste and a slightly pungent finish. Hokkoku Kaido Junmai Daiginjo Sho A high quality sake. The mouthfeel is clear and fruity with a good acidity. This is delicious. Overall, the impression was a bit refreshing. Only one sake brewed last year was made by Touji Nakamura, who came from Takeuchi Shuzo. The sake he brought this time was the same one, and he said he couldn't drink it anymore. And this is where time ran out. It took us about 1 hour and 45 minutes to go around the venue. On the way back, we took the train to visit a liquor store in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. The owner of the liquor store was just visiting the same event, so we spent about an hour talking with the chatty owner, and then we safely returned home.

Good morning, Nemuchi 😃! Thanks for your report on the Shiga Sake Local Sake Festival! I personally wanted to go to this event (with envy 🤤) so this was helpful! It's still intoxicating to hear the real voices of those involved in the sake brewing industry 😊.
