The name "Eikou Fuji" comes from the fact that the character for "Eikou" was added to the original sake name "Fuji" at the time of the company's founding to express the wish for prosperity. Kagamiyama" used to be a well-loved local sake in Kawagoe, but it went out of business due to a lack of successors.
However, thanks to the enthusiasm of the local people, it was revived in 2007 as "Koedo Kagamiyama Brewery.
It is believed that the name comes from the name of a mountain called "Kagamiyama" located on the shore of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture.
