My husband had reserved this restaurant for drinking with an acquaintance, but his partner was suddenly unable to make it, so he brought us there instead. We started with Abe-kan. I had never had this sake before, so I ordered it. The aroma was not assertive, but the taste was soft and very fruity. What kind of fruit? It's hard to give an example because of my lack of experience, but I just say it has a strong fruitiness 😅.

It's been a while since I had a drink at home 🍶. We had good meat, so we decided to make sukiyaki. The label said it was clean and dry, but this dryness goes well with sukiyaki! It is refreshing, but I think it also has a strong umami flavor. It was a good holiday meal 🙂. It was a good holiday meal 😋.

This is the second bottle of Asakai that I bought in bulk. It seems to be characterized by its strong umami, and when I actually drank it, the mellow umami spread out and was delicious. Very mellow and smooth 😆. I felt a bit of spiciness in the aftertaste at first, but as I drank more and more, I couldn't tell. I usually like to drink it cold, but it was recommended to drink it at room temperature or lukewarm, so I drank it at room temperature today. The rest will be drunk lukewarm tomorrow 🍶.

Sake, which was not on the menu. I ordered the jidori chicken and burdock with egg and was recommended a hot sake for pairing. It was rich in flavor, yet easy to drink and unexpectedly very much to my liking. I made the painful mistake of forgetting to take a picture of the food even though it was recommended as a pairing.

The aroma of old sake! Taste of old wine! It tastes like old sake, but it's easy to drink. Even my husband, who is not fond of strong sake, said it was just about acceptable 😆. It seems to go well with strong flavored snacks.

When I mentioned that I wanted something refreshing among the five or so types of Kaze no Mori sake, the waiter recommended this one. I was told that this sake was discontinued a few years ago, but has been revived by the current brewer. Fruity and juicy. It was delicious.

The aroma was not strong at all, so I thought it would be a clean, refreshing type, but I was surprised when I felt a huge bulge in my mouth. I enjoyed the mellow flavor, but my husband, who likes refreshing drinks, did not like it. It is certainly not suitable as a food wine. I think it would be better served with salty snacks at night.

I bought it this time because I drank Asakai sake a long time ago and thought it was to my liking. It was slightly sweet and had a gorgeous aroma. It was light and easy to drink, so it could be enjoyed either as an evening drink or a mealtime drink. I think I liked it best with the firefly squid with vinegared miso in today's meal.
