Next was a special junmai sake called WHITE STYLE from Asakai, a long-established local Iwate sake brewery.
It is brewed with white malted rice, so we purchased this sake with the expectation of sourness.
I took a sip and wondered....
I didn't feel that much acidity?
I thought it could be a little stronger, but not as much as I expected.
Well, among Iwate sake, which is often sweet, the acidity-driven Yuyoemon used to be disliked in the past, so it is understandable that the toji-san put the brakes on it, but it is a pity that the white malted rice is not utilized to its fullest.
It is a prejudice based on the view that because it is sour, it is painful, but that is why Kawamura Shuzo found a way to make use of it outside of the prefecture, and there is a history of sales growth in Iwate Prefecture in the form of reimportation.
Well, when I first drank Niimasa, I thought to myself, "What is a sour sake? 😅. 😅
But I think the sake that was made with a meaning was still appreciated properly. 👍
As for this one, it was just plain delicious.
Good evening, Matsuchiyo-san! 🙋
That was a long time ago, and now it is highly regarded.
Sake with acidity was not well received within the prefecture and was sold mainly outside the prefecture, but with time, it is finally being appreciated! 👍
Purchased with fish at a certain fish supermarket originating in Niigata Prefecture
Not a label I've seen much of.
The taste is slightly sweet with a beautiful daiginjo-like flavor and ginjo aroma.
Delicious!
My colleague is going to a sake brewery.
I bought her a limited edition sake 🍶.
I got him to buy it for me😍🍶✨✨.
I don't know what's going on with me lately
I'm getting more and more remote😅.
Thanks guys😍💕💕
When you open it

Asakai Honjozo Iwate Green
Mellow, dry, refreshing
It is easier to drink if it is heated up hot, as the alcohol smell rounds out and the flavor is more pleasant.
We changed banks and went back to the standing bar.
It has a sharp ginjo aroma.
It is light and sweet, but also has a dry taste.
It has a crisp and refreshing taste.
We paired it with ray fins.
Found at Hankyu Oasis
Local stores don't have fresh sake that needs to be refrigerated, so I thought to myself, "Sannomiya is the place to be!
The label is black if you don't use flash.
Black malted rice is used. Not as sour as white malted rice sake, but it has a strong acidity and a slightly habitual, dark sweet/umami taste. Pineapple-like nuance in the latter half. A little too much flavor 🤔.
It tastes a little too strong or you will get tired of drinking it.
So it's hard if you don't drink it in small quantities😅.
After the second day, the taste is so strong that it's like a stag party😅
I think it might be 🫶🤔
Good morning, I'm looking forward to seeing you again! 🙋
Obon has begun.
This year, we had clear skies and a lack of water.
Last year and the year before, we had heavy rains and could not even visit the graves, so I think the weather is very Obon-like.
The temperature in the mornings these days is below 20 degrees Celsius, so it is easier to sleep. 😁
Well, this time I will upload what I was drinking a while ago.
First, a local Asakai honjozo that I drank at a get-together after a meeting.
It is served as all-you-can-drink sake, but it is clean and easy to drink without any eginess.
In fact, it is completely different from the traditional honjozo fresh-stored sake. When I drank it at Mororokaku, a yakiniku (barbecue) restaurant in front of the station, it was not tasty because it had a strong eggy taste.
This is just my personal opinion, but I would choose this one if it were all-you-can-drink.
