When I was shopping in Yokohama the other day, I bought a bottle in a hurry without thinking much about what to do with it. It was my first time to buy a sake from Saga Prefecture. It was also awarded the 2020 Kura Master Gold Prize. In conclusion, I was surprised to taste it for the first time. A fragrant pale aroma of blended banana and orange appears, and a citrus sweetness like that aroma passes down my throat. The best I've had in months!

It's a holiday, so I went to Yokohama to get some new sake. Today, at the Urakasumi booth in the Yokohama Takashimaya Department Store, the saleswoman's mother recommended Hiyaoroshi. She said, "Definitely keep it chilled. It's been brought here chilled from the brewery in Miyagi Prefecture to keep it tasty! Drink it up in about three days." I was told to buy it with a refrigerant. The golden silhouette of autumn leaves on the label is wonderful. When we took a sip at home, it tasted dry like shochu or gin because of the high alcohol content. But of course it has a gorgeous aroma of sake. It is a sake to enjoy only now through the summer.

This week, we're going to try two brands from Aichi Prefecture's Tsurumi Sake Brewery. The first one is "Sen". The label says "2020 France Kura Master Platinum Award". When I took a sip, I thought, "Oh, the French will love this. The most notable thing about it is how well it goes down the throat. The various flavors that appear and disappear are like the protocol of a refined white wine.

Today, I bought the second bottle of Midoriji, Kanazawa yeast brewing "K14". "It has a gorgeous aroma and a sweet taste. When it goes down the throat, a modest sourness and a richness appear at the same time.

It's Friday, so I went to Shin-Yokohama Bic Camera to look for some new sake when I got home. We got two kinds of sake from Nagano called "Suirou". We started with the "Karakuchi". When I tasted it raw, the pungency rose up sharply, but it didn't sting, and it went down my throat well. I guess the water is good, they use the subsoil water of Kirigamine highland.

I bought this bottle at Bic Camera in Shin-Yokohama because the transparency of the bottle reminded me of the freshness of the Shimanto River in summer. However, it is indeed a Tosa sake, and the old-fashioned wild sourness and rice-like taste first hit me hard, but surprisingly it goes down the throat without being unpleasant.

I bought two bottles of Junmai Ginjo SILVER and Junmai BLACK at the event corner of Takashimaya Yokohama store (I failed to upload the photos again). I tasted the SILVER first. The texture is sweet, thick, full and round.

Next, we tasted Junmai BLACK. This one is called "Dry Tanrei" and it has a clean texture. It is mainly spicy and crisp, but has a light and clean taste, which I like. I think it goes well with sashimi.

Today is my son's 20th birthday. I found the Yoshinogawa booth at Yokohama Takashimaya. After listening to the veteran sales representative's thoughts on the product, I was attracted by the beautiful blue bottle and took the plunge and bought the 5,500 yen Daiginjo Genshu. I chilled it nicely and sipped it. The first thing that struck me was how different it was from the usual. In a word, it has a beautiful mouthfeel. The sweetness and spiciness appear and disappear quickly. I feel like I've stepped into a different world.

Excuse me, kaznem. Happy birthday to your son! Did you drink with him when he turned 20? It's times like this when you toast with a special drink 😆.

Hi, Mr. Hito. Yes, of course I drank with him. He said, "Sake is delicious, but my throat is hot" (laugh).

Today, I drank Junmai Daiginjo Taiheizan Tenkou (Taiheizan Tenkou) raw with fatty sashimi and grilled fish. The first thing that stands out is a strong and gorgeous banana aroma. This lasts all the way down the throat. The taste is well balanced with mild sweetness and spiciness.

Today is Father's Day, so I was excited to get some sake (by myself). It was strongly recommended to me in the sake section of Yokohama Sogo. In the mouth, it has a banana-like aroma, a smooth and sweet mouthfeel like water, and then a moderate spiciness and bitterness that appear at the same level and tighten the taste buds.

Today we have the second gift from Akita, Fukukomachi. It has a gorgeous, light semedyne smell with a refreshing bitterness and spiciness that goes right through. The label says, "Full-bodied and delicious taste spreads in the mouth," but is it my taste buds that feel the freshness and smoothness more than that?

It was given to us by an acquaintance who said, "This sake was talked about on NHK's program. We chilled it well and had it with anticipation. When you put your nose to the sake cup, you can smell a refreshing banana aroma. When it contains it in the mouth, a faint semedyne smell spreads in the mouth. I prepared myself for what kind of stimulus would come next, but it disappeared down my throat with a light sweetness like wasanbon. The harmony is as elegant as it was designed to be.

I uncorked this bottle while watching the Fukushima Sake Aid Live. The recommended way to drink it is cold. When you put your mouth close to the sake cup, you can smell the gorgeous aroma. The taste is rich and full in a good sense, as if it were sake.

Probably the first sake from Gunma Prefecture. This is delicious! It might be one of the top 3 ever. The sweetness, pungency, and acidity in the mouth all rise quickly at the same level with no time difference, yet it is elegant, understated, and smooth. It is ranked 7th out of 659 breweries in the world.

This is one of the three bottles that were delivered at the "2nd Fukushima Sake Aid Live ~ with Fukushima Sake Festival" this weekend. This is a fantastic sake that is mostly consumed in Iwaki. I wasn't sure whether to drink it cold or warm, so I tried it raw, which was the right choice. It has a nice balance of mild sweetness, richness, and spiciness, with an aroma of rice and a light mouthfeel. It is a gem to savor slowly with a hot pot.

This is a sake from Wakayama. It is now read as "Kiddo". It's freshly squeezed, so it's refreshing on the palate. A sweet, faint strawberry-like flavor appears for a moment before it goes down your throat.

Today's crop is "Miyabi no Chi". It has a light fragrance, with an elegant bitterness and sweetness spreading at the same time. I don't remember the previous taste of "Gen-no-Techi" and "Eno-Techi", but I think we had the same impression.
