On the last day of March, I took the children on spring break to Yamagata and Atsumi Onsen. Takamiya Villa Kyuon. Nice hot water. The hina-dan is lovely. I wonder if it was open until today. Then, we bought some sake at Hiniki Shoten along the Onomi River in the Atsumi Onsen town. It is Hatsuson of Tohoku Meikozo. The first grandchild, Misaki, is a pink spring color. I like the name. I wonder if there are various seasonal first grandchildren. It has a slightly sweet floral aroma and a mild mouthfeel. Mellow mouthfeel, Mellow sweetness. Niigata Sake no Jin 2025! Neji Otokoyama from the Watanabe Sake Brewery in DOMAINE WATANABE, Itoigawa! At the sake camp, there are paid tables and free tables, and as I wanted to spare some time to sit and visit the breweries, the free tables were enough for me. It is fun to take a break and drink your purchased sake while sharing sake with people you don't know sitting nearby and making new friends. Here is a bottle given to me by the lovely ladies next to me who had come from far away. When I returned home, I found it in my backpack 🤣𐤔𐤔It had been snuck by someone when I was cleaning up on the way home. At Niigata Sake-no-jin 2025! This is "Chisan", a Daiginjo of Shimeharihizuru! I went there to drink this first, and the blue label was so impressive that I drank it last year. Delicious...gorgeous, smooth, elegant and beautiful, This year, I got in line for the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony of the festival. (I knew Abe Brewery was going to be great). Four kinds of sake were compared and commentary by the brewer was included. (1) Junmai Ginjo Jun, 2) Daiginjo Chan, Junmai Ginjo Nama Harushibori, (3) Junmai Ginjo Nama Harushibori, (4) Umeshu (plum wine) by Shimejotsuru The brewer explained carefully and thoroughly about the sake, and of course the sake cup was delicious, but I was reminded of the taste of each sake. The "Jun" was gentle and full of flavor, the "Harushibori" was fresh and powerful, and the "Umeshu" was dessert with a refreshing sweetness!

At Niigata Sake-no-jin 2025! Drink at the venue and bring a bottle as a souvenir. For now, I would like to recommend Itzumi Shuzo's Itsuki from Sado Island. It is characterized by its sweetness, but especially the blue raw sake type and this gold raw sake type are just delicious. And then there is this one. Personally, I prefer junmai nama to junmai ginjo nama. It was Niigata Sake-no-jin 2025! It was too much fun! Even in Niigata, where hotel rates are skyrocketing, my friend from Tokyo was very satisfied. It was great again this year...
