I returned home for the holidays to participate in cleaning out the oversized trash at my parents' house. After sweating a bit, I found Izumikawa in the fridge and immediately opened a bottle of this unexpected trophy 🎉. It has a slightly soft sweetness, a gradual flavor, and a bitterness that comes in the latter half of the bottle. It is smooth and easy to drink! It is the big brother of Tobiroki, and I enjoyed Izumikawa for the first time in a long time 😘.

Izumikawa's Funakuchi. It is a slightly orizumi (orizumi is a slightly cloudy, raw sake), so the first thing to drink is the top clear liquid. The aroma is still young and melon-like, with a soft sweetness and a tangy, spicy bitterness. The balance of sweetness, spiciness, and bitterness gradually improves. When mixed with ori, it becomes slightly cloudy. The spiciness subsides and the sweetness increases, creating a mellow mouthfeel that keeps you coming back for more. It is a very fresh and delicious sake that can only be drunk at this time of the year.

Izumikawa Jungin Nanaguchi Hon Nama Nama ✨✨✨✨ Izumikawa is a sake that is distributed within the prefecture by the famous sake brewery HIROKI, but this Jungin Funakuchi Honnen is exceptionally popular and our expectations are skyrocketing. ⤴️ The bottle was opened very quietly, with a little lees at the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is similar to that of Tobiroki, but it is not flashy, with fresh melon and pear fruits. The taste is a little viscous and smooth on the tongue, with moderate acidity and the sweetness of the rice spreading through a dry aftertaste. When the starch is mixed in, the softness and flavor increase, and although it has a moderate alcohol content, it is a very popular wine.

The Izumi River is as expected after all. The slightly muddy water is typical of this time of year! The first cup was a bit nasally. The sourness and sweetness afterwards are great. I think it tastes better than Tobiroki😋. I feel happy that I got it as well since I have a policy of buying great sake at a fixed price 😀.

Isego Nakameguro's corner shop is open from 12:00 on weekends but from 3:00 to 6:30 on weekdays, which is a personal hurdle for me, and I would like to see it open from noon on weekdays as well. The first glass is a new sake by Hiroki Shuzo from Izumikawa and Tobiroki, which I was curious about ✨. It smells like green apple🍏. It has a gentle mouthfeel and I didn't feel any gas. Masahiro Kasahara's fried chicken, horen Along with boiled and soaked grass. 😋 The annual treat, Izumigawa's Funakuchi I'm so happy to enjoy this year's Honsei again. 😭 The ori can be seen slightly at the bottom. No roughness, freshness, gentle sweetness, and a nice sharpness. Fruity aroma with light acidity and sweetness floating on green apple. Not much thickening. The lingering aftertaste is long, with a strong sweet and umami flavor that slowly fades through the nose and is mixed with acidity and bitter umami flavor. The tongue roughness is a little strong and the alcohol on the tongue is long and thick all the way through. It can go with strong dishes without losing, so I want to keep it around for a long time!

I have followed this sake for six seasons without fail, and recently I have finally become somewhat familiar with the differences in sake quality from year to year. How about this year? It is light and cloudy. There is almost no foam and the aroma is fresh green grass. The mouthfeel is soft with the rough outline of a raw sake. It has a pleasant sweetness, but it is more like alcohol sweetness than sugar sweetness. Some people might describe it as dry. It is delicious again this year.

At standing drinking chuin shinmachi branch in shinmachi, Osaka, which reopened for business. Today we will compare 4 sakes from Tobiroki and Izumikawa 🍶. Next is the second sake, Izumikawa Junmai Ginjyo Funakuchi Hon Nama. Funakuchi is a sake that is bottled directly after it comes out of the tank (pressed), or in other words, directly pumped. I have a feeling it will be delicious! The appearance is a very pale orikara with a slight haze of tailings. The aroma is soft and sweet with hints of melon and sweet banana. The powdery rice aroma is also rich, like freshly pounded rice cake. The aroma does not disappoint, and at this point, I can only think of it as a favorite, and I am drooling. The texture is smooth and clean on the palate. The mouthfeel is clean and refreshing, with a gentle acidity, but then the soft sweetness of the rice is felt, and it spreads softly in the mouth. The sweetness of the rice is more intoxicating than the sweetness, as it is softly and firmly felt. The final part of the bottle finishes cleanly as if it is disappearing. The lingering aftertaste is medium, with a fresh, tingling sensation that is typical of nama-zake. This is still my favorite one 😊🍶. When I told Mr. Kawada about it, he said, "That's right! I always buy this every year!" I always buy this one every year! I was convinced that he is a master and moved on to the next sake 🍶.

Today, we had a 4-sake drinking contest at Hiroki Sake Brewery Honten in Aizu, Fukushima, which brews Tobiroki and local brand Izumikawa 🍶. The first sake, Kikusenkawa Ginjo-shu. Daiginjo and junmai ginjo are often seen, but sake with the specific name "ginjoshu" seems to be rather rare 🤔. The appearance is clear crystal. The aroma is fresh and sweet. Melon, more like melon. It would be more accurate to say that it is a well ripened makuwa melon. The rice aroma is about the same as that of a new rice powder. When you put it in your mouth, it has a smooth texture. A refreshing sweetness and fine acidity spread quickly. The alcohol gives a soft sweetness and finishes off with a relatively slim flow. The finish is sharp, with a moderate warmth and a very slight bitter aftertaste. Pretty good 😊. Drunken slide into the second saké 🍶.
