We went to Fujiki Shoten Ikebukuro Honten located at the east exit of Ikebukuro station.
This store has sake from all 47 prefectures!

Saba de Shu is a sake brewed in Ibaraki Prefecture and specially made for mackerel!

Kaisen Tokubetsu Junmai Gen no Sake
Sake from Fussa, Tokyo
The sake brewery must have a lot of confidence in their sake, since they proudly call it "Genki-no-shu" 😁.
The store didn't replenish in time, so it's almost at room temperature, but here goes!
Not bad!
More rice flavor than sweetness.
Smooth on the palate.

Shichiken Junmai Furin Bizan
The specifications are undisclosed, but the rice is grown by contract farmers in Yamanashi Prefecture 😊.
On the back of the label, it is described as "a refreshing dry taste with the umami of rice penetrating through"!
If that's the case, I think they should disclose the rice used for the sake...
Mellow aroma of grapes, just like Koshu sake!
The taste is as described, refreshing and dry ❗️.

Junmai Ginpu Kunimare
Sake from (supposedly) Japan's northernmost sake brewery!
I went there twice!
The spring water from Mt. Shokanbetsu is used as brewing water, and you can pump it out freely at the brewery!
The water was soft and tasty👍
Now this time
Aroma that reminds you of a sharp and dry taste
It's the same on the palate!
It has a full-bodied, bitter flavor and a great sharpness, making it totally dry!
Perfect with fatty horse mackerel 👌

Miyoshikiku Wreckage
The name sounds cruel, but this sake is made by squeezing three major sake rice brands, Yamada-Nishiki, Omachi, and Gohyakumangoku.
I drank this about a year and a half ago.
At that time, I was surprised by its unique acidity, but this time, let's see...
It's totally different ❗️
The sweetness comes to the forefront and the bitterness and acidity are only moderately noticeable.
